Don't know about the rest of you but this is one of the most fabulous dresses I've ever seen!
German-born Gustave Beer was regarded as one of the most expensive couturiers in Paris at the turn of the 20th century and into the 1920s. Beer opened his couture house on the Place Vendôme in 1905, outfitting European royalty such as Empress Frederick of Germany and the Queen of Portugal. Over the course of his design career, Beer’s aesthetic would shift from the conservative yet extravagant S-Curve gowns of the Belle Époque into the increasingly relaxed silhouettes promoted in the 1910s, looking to Art Nouveau and Jugendstil design for inspiration. Beer is not remembered for innovation but rather for opulence in his designs, and his pieces are often described as sumptuous and overtly extravagant.

The bustle was at its greatest extension by 1885. It was almost perpendicular to the back and heavily upholstered. The 1880s versions were as padded and heavily embellished as a drawing-room hassock of the period. It was a popular conceit that the cantilevers of these bustles could support an entire tea service. To sustain the greater weight of the 1880s gowns, light and flexible infrastructures were created with flexible materials--wire, cane, whalebone--held together by canvas tapes or inserted into quilted channels.

Okay, I know this isn't clothing but you aren't fully dressed until you've applied a scent.

The oldest Eau de Cologne was born in 1792, when Wilhelm Muelhens received a secret recipe as a wedding present. In 1820 Wilhelms grandson registered 4711 as a brand and created the first iteration modern logo and it hasnt changed since.
Every self respecting Women in the 50s and 60s had a bottle of 4711.

Amazing you can still buy that same bottle of 4711 colonge at priceline or any major chemist.
