One other misconception is that most people think its a matter of going into hospital "to get the chop".

The process takes years - to get access to the hormones, there are stringent medical and psychological tests you have to go through.

THEN, taking the hormones makes yours hair grow longer, softens your skins and redistributes fat and develop breasts - what a lot of people dont know is that by taking the concoction of a dozen female hormones, anti-androgens (to stop the male biochemicals), we are at risk of strokes, blood clots (higher if you smoke while on them), heart attacks, liver damage to name a few. These levels have to be watched in regular blood tests with your GP to find the right level for you.

BREAST IMPLANTS are meant to come after being on the hormones after a certain period of time.

AND FINALLY - the last hurdle is deciding to "get the chop" - as that can sometimes numb the sex drive (variant from person to person of course, but it is one risk) despite the hormones. Have you ever had a dog or cat desexed? in some cases there is a noticeable change....

So just wanted to throw that out there....
