Hi all! I am from Melbourne...Anyone else from Melbourne around?
Looking forward to participating in this forum more often in the near future :-)

. Before Melbourne was Melbourne, it was called Batmania
Not because the first settlers were obsessed with Gotham City and Bruce Wayne, but for John Batman, the Australian-born colonist who was one of Melbourne's founding fathers.

We're Happy Little Vegemites!
Not only was this national toast spread invented in Melbourne, it is still manufactured solely at the Vegemite factory in Fisherman's Bend, near Port Melbourne.

3. The MCG Floats
In 1846, the hallowed grounds of the MCG were first located further downriver at present day Southbank, but had to move for a couple of reasons: it was in the way of Victoria's first steam train track and it kept flooding. The Melbourne Cricket Club even had to advertise for the return of their change rooms, which floated down the river on floodwaters on more than one occasion!

I visited Sunnyside beach recently but I didn't see Polly4bed there and her boyfriend. She was fun, she should make a come back...

Good old sunnyside ;) Hi there I"m also from Melbourne, but don't get much of a chance to visit the beach these days.

Hey Y'all,

I can't talk about it at home these days so I am looking forward to a place where I can talk about "it" without fear or rancour. Alas, my beloved and I seem to be heading in different directions on the thorny issue of sex.

This is my first foray outside the castle though so will ease my way into it.

Cheers,
Kell
