I read somewhere a few days ago that the government will throw about 900m over 4 years towards DV. Let's gather here after 4 years and see how that went.
I don't think throwing money at the symptom is a solution. I am very keen to understand the root cause of DV. Is it drugs, alcohol, a man's history of being subjected to family violence? Is it women choosing the wrong men despite the red flags? Is it because a man faces the threat of losing his house, his kids and his finances due to impending divorce?
I think it is more important to understand the why and how and only then can the root cause be addressed. I agree with another poster here that trying to eradicate DV completely is wishful thinking, just like trying to eradicate road accidents or drink driving.
