Why do punters send penis pics?

I never used to, but sent my first a year or so ago and since then have sent quite a few. Very nervously at first, but with confidence now. Only to people I know, though. Sending to a stranger is extremely unlikely to be a good idea. And even to a friend it works best as part of mutual messaging back and forth and not random time of the day as a "surprise". Lol.

I've always found it odd. Even on the work phones before CALM dick pics were the norm. CALM brought much relief by siphoning out the dick pics.
I have friends who use dating sites and it seems to be the thing on there to.
