Private numbers - a question to the w/l

Hi,
Being a busy W/L these last few days. However I've noticed that the majority of clients, showing number withheld are in the main rude dudes. The ones that call back with their number showing are generally quite nice and I can get a booking from them.

Have other ladies experienced this?

Id think that if someone is serious they would not mind the number coming up.
As for discretion, married etc etc therefore hiding the number...well if the deal is legit then what would it matter if the w/l has the number? Part of the service is complete discretion right.

I personally advertised that i did not answer private or withheld numbers and that should clients wish to contact me that they could also email me and i would reply asap. I think some clients are really edgy about giving out numbers and as a point of courtesy i always asked if the number they were calling on was one i could use to txt and confirm the booking.
I also had a few looser pervs who would txt me for a booking then simply ask to exchange naughty pics... these guys numbers i saved in my phone as "Perv1, Scumbag1, NoShow7 etc. Hope this helps!

Yes I agree Annie most private number callers are not genuine i advertise too that pvt numbers will be ignored. I think all WL's have perv and scumbag numbers saved in our fones LOL.

As we are discreet there no reason why they can't have their caller ID switched on.

But are you all discreet? I'm sure many people have had experiences where a WL hasn't been discreet. They (WL's) have called or messaged at inappropriate times and places. Perhaps punters are simply trying to protect some of their own privacy, rather than relying on someone else to do it. I'm sure most WL's have two contact numbers, one for punters and one for family friends to maintain their privacy. So now, if a punter wants to maintain there privacy, perhaps we have to get a second phone too!!!

But I will certainly never call a client to spam, sell etc. AND I seek permission from the client if they want me to contact them on the number they've given me for when I'm around again. Also if someone has text me with enquiries I try to text them back, not call.

Hate stereotyping but unfortunately most private numbers are not nice and get off on you talking to them etc. - its their cheap way to have a wank.

Most of the lovely W/L are quite considerate, we have our private lifestyles too.

Ditto Chanell I would never call a client unless i am asked to do so to confirm a booking but mostly they ring me back to do that one hour before the booking time because they don't get my details until that time and any txt messages are answered back with a txt message.

Channel and Annie have it spot on. I understand punters are worried about discretion but my safety and privacy is paramount in my book. I would never cold-call a client and if someone texts i reply by text, not call. I have too much respect for my clients privacy to betray them.

This is an example why i dont accept private numbers. I had a punter contact me first I missed their call so they sent me a text looking to make a booking. The message came up with a name attached as i already had this number saved on my sim card...it was my best friends partner.

So not accepting these calls protects our privacy also. And if a booking turns out bad what back-up do we have if we have not collected a contact number (im talking seriously bad). This is all in addition to the majority being dirty callers, bored guys wanting to talk and prank appointments.

Guys if using your own number makes you too anxious just get another sim card, makes it nice and easy. I keep my second sim in the back of my phone behind the battery.

But just not in regard to a WL either. If you arent trying to be sneaky or who knows what else, i think its rude calling someone with a private number. I'm far from a WL but i never answer private calls. If someone wants to speak to me they can show their number

Most ladies will Not answer calls from Private Numbers.

Most of the callers ask silly questions and then just rudely hang up !
When asked What their Number is ? They hung up !

If you are Serious about seeing a lady and want to make a booking
try and change your settings and unblock Your Number for the call.

I will not answer Private numbers on my personal number let alone for work. I will never contact a client, but ensure I have their number...we all have private lives aswell and that always leaves the risk of interfering with a booking. I have never had need to cancel a booking, but I perfer to have a number to contact a client on should that ever arise. I too have found that those with-holding their number are not genuine, and that is why I do not answer these calls, but will always reply to a txt.

The problem, which seems to be getting missed here, is that while a vast majority of WL's especially the ones on this forum won't call a previous client, others have. So many punters want to keep their privacy to avoid this repeat situation. I for one, am happy to get a second spare sim. But calling from a spare pre-paid sim isn't going to give you my contact details. ABB said that by having a number exposed, she was able to see it was her best friends partner, with a dedicated pre-paid sim, you wouldn't know it was this person, and prank calling would still be possible, as even publishing the number wouldn't expose a person to anyone they know. So a pre-paid dedicated sim is as private as a private number.

Just for something else to consider - I work and live out of mobile contact with anywhere. So I use the company computer to make contact by email, then, as soon as I arrive in Perth domestic terminal, I usually call from my mobile (with number showing).

So all my early contact has to be by email - I have no choice. On two occasions, I have had to borrow a mobile because mine was dead, and then I didnt realise that his number was private.

I also dont answer private numbers, I actually rarely answer the phone at all, as its not my preferred method of contact. I much prefer email, followed by sms for inital enquiries, after which I will set up a convenient time with the client to have a chat on the phone before a booking. As I dont live where I work from and only go to my work townhouse when I am seeing clients, its very difficult for me to answer enquires on the phone when I am home with nosy little ears around. I always respond to sms, but if the enquiry goes beyond a few sms's back and forth then I ask they email me.

I use my work number mainly as a voicemail message to direct people to website for further information. The voicemail clearly tells people if they are interested in making a booking to email me.

As I only advertise on the net, I figure that someone has to have net access to get my details on the first place, so email shouldnt be an issue if they are serious about making a booking.

After a while in the industry it does get very tiresome to keep answering the same questions all the time when that information is very clearly available on my website.

So now I dont use the paper, only the net, and only answer the phone for regular clients who have been given the times when I can talk on the phone, My phone is actually always on silent.

As I have an iPhone and iPad, I can get email anywhere, anytime, and its a much faster way to get in touch. I also find that people who email enquiries tend to be more genuine about making a booking.

But it is no doubt that Amy is seriously computer savy and up with the latest.
Probably leaving most of us behind.
I think it is agreed that private wl's need to have a contact number for reference at the time of negotiating a booking and possibly after if the client is suitably informed that the number is being kept on record.
However in most cases I am sure that majority of clients would prefer to know that their contact details had been removed/deleted from whatever system the WL prefers to use.
There is a real need for privacy and discretion with these arrangements and I exoect that generally WL's take great care, but are contact numbers/details deleted after the arrangement is completed?
I would be interested to know this.

I keep contact details (phone number) until after the booking has finished.

After that what happens to the number is dependent on what instructions I have from my client. Unless I am told I may use their number for future contact, I delete it when the booking is over.

The only numbers that get saved to my phone or client contact list are those who give me permission to do so. The only other way your number will get saved is if you are a complete wanker/tosser and your number will be saved with appropriate notation so I dont ever have to have contact with you again.

If a client books through my online booking service (which is provided by ClickBook.net) they have a choice of registering as a client with their contact number and email address, this allows them to also choose to get a reminder sms or email at a time frame they set before the booking. They do not have to register to make a booking. Its entirely up to them. Information provided if they register is secured on Clickbook's servers.

All of my email is kept on an external hard drive which is locked away in a safe when not in use. Email enquiries and booking enquires are kept for a period of one month, unless client requests future contact.

My contact list is on my iPhone, and this can be remotely wiped/deleted if need be.

I also have an opt in mailing system. People may choose if they sign up for newsletters which includes specials, discounts, etc. They can subscribe to a number of lists such as general news, tour news for each city, specials, and are in complete control over what information they provide and can update or unsubscribe at any time. I only send out newsletters every couple of months or when anything changes with my hours/rates, or if I have any specials.

I never contact clients or past enquiries out of the blue, the only time anyone will ever get any communication from me is in direct response to their own enquiry, or if they have requested that I keep in touch. I wont even message anyone on msn or yahoo unless they message me first, as I do not know who may be sitting behind their computer.

Some clients do request I keep their number, as I will give preference to bookings with people I have seen before and if I am able to I will answer calls from clients I have seen previously.

With clients who have partners I will also give them an alternative phone number to contact me on which does not have the voicemail which if anyone (read wife/girlfriend/significant other or general nosy person) listened to would quickly realise who I was. My alternative number is not listed anywhere on the net, and it has a very generic voicemail message which gives no information as to who I am.

If I do get voicemail on my usual work number, unless there is a clear time provided to call back I will not return the call. So its best to always leave a suitable time you can be contacted up till. When I reply to text messages, I am also very discreet and use very general language, and tend to answer with replies that could be from any other business. Too many clients dont clear out text messages and its surprising how many get busted by wives/partners that way. I always try to drill appropriate ways to cover your tracks into clients lol

I do understand discretion, I expect it myself from my clients, and would never dream of being anything but the soul of discretion with my clients details. I have even concocted stories to get clients out of trouble when they have been busted with my number. Trust me its never a fun thing to get a call from the other half, and its something I do my best to avoid happening. But if it does I will do my utmost to cover my clients butt so to speak.

Glad to have answered your question. Life would certainly be easier if all ladies understood discretion. The number of times I have heard of ladies who contact past clients and enquirers without being asked to in the hopes of drumming up business appalls me. I think some ladies certainly need to remember part of what we are paid for is discretion. The ones who practice calling or texting people out of the blue without prior permission to do so are obviously only out for themselves and are what I would term money hungry. Ladies who do this give all WL's a bad name.

Thank god there are more ladies than not who don't practice this appalling habit.

In regards to a book, yes I do plan to write someday about my experiences, but be assured when I do no one will ever be able to identify any of my clients. Not so sure though about a handbook for WL's, those that want to learn as much as they can will always find a mentor and the skills they need to be successful, and the rest just think they know everything anyway lol

I never give out my private number for sex bookings, probably why I rarely see privates these days. The main reason I have for seeing a W/L (apart from the obvious) is anonymity and discretion. I noticed the trend a few years back of W/Ls not accepting calls from blocked numbers. Though this is understandable, it was only 10 years ago when there was no such thing as call number display, sort of makes you wonder why it wasn't an issue back then.
