These stories mention a lack of suitable transplant organs.
If a "drug junkie" receives an organ instead of another needy patient, where is the justice in that situation !!
A case of distinguishing needs of someone causing their own problem from someone more innocent !:tearyeyed:

hellllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:violent5:

Turn it around would you take a heart from a JUNKIE if you needed one??
If it saved your life would it be scum?

:police: Just let her die,she chose her life now deal with 1 chance is enough for junky, she knew what she was doing! :laughing4

Whilst I thimk it is unfortunate that she finds herself in this situation, why does the Premierstep in when he won't do anything about any of the other More needy (?) cases.

I'm afraid I have to say - just put her in the queue like everyone else and spend the taxpayers dollars on the Hospital System in general. She won't be the first one to pass away before receiving treatment, nor will she be the last.

Drug addiction is a terrible thing, but so is wasting a second chance, someone else could be alive with that liver that she threw away.

Would be interesting if all who wrote she doesn't deserve another chance, what if it was your daughter?
Would you still be laughing? Oh because it's so funny.
Also she was given Ritalin at the age of 12 which in my belief is a load of crap, if you had a hypo child in the 70's, you dealt with it usually by taking sugar from there diet.
Does anybody really know how she fucked up a new liver so fast or did her body reject it.?
She is only 24 which is very young to fuck up your liver from i.v drugs. It usually takes people with hep c twice that long before they can fuck up there liver, also before it was called hep c it was non a non b in the 80's and if you gave up drinking it can and has gone dormant.
So what drugs really did fuck up her liver, prescription drugs or just blame it on her being a junkie. That's the easy way out for our great health department.
Like there really going to come out and say it was the prescription drugs are they? Will be interesting if her farther does go ahead and sue the doctor or whoever he said he will sue.
More to this story than some media bullshit and someone thinking it's so fucking funny. No wonder so many of the older members don't log onto this site anymore.

It is a hell of a situation and I do not envy the person who had to make the decision to refuse her a second chance. How would it feel to tell a mother of two that she won't see her kids grow up?

That said, she did continue to take drugs post-transplant and wasted a valuable liver which, in all probability, could have given someone else a shot at life. That is definitely solid grounds for the refusal but doesn't make the reality any less grim.

Who has the right or the judgement to play God? Everybody is special and we have all done things we will regret tomorrow.

Should it just be a grand lottery who wins and who loses?

Today money and power talks. And a number of great men and women have said, "Life was not mean to be fair. Enjoy today because you never know if you will be here tomorrow."

Enough of my ramblings-I should be in bed to try to catch 3 hours sleep.
:walk:

everyone judges and there is no god. Nobody is special, the person who lived the healthiest, exercised the most etc etc should be chosen. Mistakes have consequences

I didn't see anyone laughing
But lets put it into context based on what we have been shown by the media

Junkie needs transplant
Junkie gets transplant even though is known junkie.... thats good going
Junkie rejects transplant for whatever reason... possibly back on the gear
Govt refuses junkie another transplant in this country
Junkie gets $200k+ on a 2 yr loan to travel to another country to have transplant
Junkie parents sell story to Channel 9 and get money to pay back WA govt
Junkie gets living transplant from family member... hopefully both are OK

Interesting to see if Govt collects on debt

However...I personally... wouldn't give her a cent
Make your mistakes... live with them
I've lost friends and family myself... infact my mums flying to Wagga on Tuesday to bury a family member who could possibly been saved if we had $200k+ from a govt loan..... but... guess we're not special enough to save our family

wheres the compassion for this young lady. i bet everyone on here has made mistakes in there lives. so fair go she has two young kids and a family who cares for her.i pay plenty of tax and dont mind it going to people like who her if its going to give her a chance at life.and after all its only a bloody loan the govt has given her family.they will have to pay it back within two years so everyone please ease up on this young lady and lets keep our fingers crossed that the transplant goes well for her.

I didn't see anybody laughing why don't you read the thread right thru mate, All the rest of the crap you write . Maybe you should get your facts right, but who gives a fuck ? That's your attitude.
You must live the perfect strait life and i guess you don't drink either.
Also your mother flying to Wagga for a family funeral, Was it a porpas grave?
When you have to resort to that then i believe you may have a reason to bitch.

I agree with HappyTimes. She sounds like a nice person who I would like to know. :love10:

Excuse me and WTF
I've gone on the info provided by the media
Exactly as I stated
Except I didn't mention the fact they were originally going to NZ now its Singapore

And regardless... this was a thread asking the question... I say she's had her chances
Sad and tragic as it is for her family and kids ( don't get me started on unwed/underage mothers and drug addicts being allowed to give birth and keep them) ... but there has to be a point where the bleeding heart stops and people start to take responsibility for their own actions

I tend to say what other people are thinking... so if I offend... such is life.
And since you know nothing about me, my life or my family... take this as a personal invite to ... well.. get fucked.

NOT a problem MR Aussie-Single34, Yeah you really know what your talking about.
For one i wouldn't want to know anything about you as your a narrow minded fuckwit.
Want to throw it take it back.:laughing4 See that, how long have you been a member for? Well it mean's laughing. As i said read the fucin thread..

Seems 5 yrs longer than you
Guess I don't spend as much time trawling forums paying attention to smilie faces
You attacked me so you got some back
Crawl back under your rock for a cry mate

The opinions expressed by Aussie are obviously not those of other members
Since an opinion was asked I gave it

You wouldn't have a clue how long i have been here, wow 5 years hey. Since you said no one laughed that is why i said it, so if you have been a member for 5 years one would think you would know that.
That's why it's called a debating board.
I will have to have a little cry for you, just to make you happy.

Yes this is a good thread.

I hope however we can discuss this in a reasonable manner. Of course I realize like others reading these posts it is a very emotional subject.

On the positive side it is great to see people are posting.

Please forgive me and be gentle to me because I have not been on this forum very long.

The whole situation us a disgrace, she fucked up and unlike most sensible members of the community, didn't learn her lesson the first time so she has no right at all for any preferential treatment, if anything she should go to the end of the queue and be scrutinised even harder for what is effectively her third chance at life.... Why should the fact she has kids or not alter the decision anyway? The government panders to the needs of those stupid enough to have children that they aren't in a position to support as it is, fair enough it sucks for the children involved but all this does is send a disturbing message to those in our community who think someone else will always pick up the pieces, what happened to being responsible for our own actions????

Instead of the situation involving a female junkie, let's investigate a different scenario. What if the person who needs a 2nd transplant of whatever organ is a guy who has been convicted of beating up his wife once already but has now been convicted a 2nd time for the same thing? Is he more deserving of a 2nd transplant than the female junkie? I don't reckon. :boxing:

Alecia I love you!
I really am turned on with a lady who has brains. And yes you have proved you have.

I am sure if we add what if, there would be many more debating issues on the subject.

And dear reader, what if it was you that missed out because of her?
:walk:

Thanks Bluegrass

I agreed with your previous input on the matter too. I tend to be a bit of a "what if" sort of person. ;D

Alecia the foxx so am I, a what if person, as it helps when I attempt to write my novels.

Now what if we ever met?

Relax it is after all just a what if.

And probably needs to be a new thread.
Look and you will find one.

Everyone needs a second throw of the dice in life. Have some sympathy...

I for one approve of Kim Haines decision ,this girl is contrit and aware of the cost pain and danger she has put her family in .I have also had 2nd chance in life so I now will become a donor .
