Exceptional service...

When was the last time you experienced exceptional service somewhere, if it is ok with the moderators so long as we don`t mention any of the sex service industries we can name and praise those other businesses that we feel may have gone the extra mile..

This week I've had great service from two places that have a poor reputation: one was the bank and the other the shire. The only problem at the bank was that, while the service was great, the interest rates available to depositors were pathetic, but we can't blame the lass on the counter for that.

And sometimes we the customer expect amazing service But we ourselves are in bad moods or have come after a aggressive customer It must at times be very hard for the staff member to erase the last incident and put on that calm friendly face and give us the great service that we want

Its fine to mention the names of these places, the restrictions are on the advertisers not the forum members. This is first and foremost an information forum.

I had a problem with my vehicle last week and had to get it towed to my mechanic since the RAC couldn`t work out what the problem was.
Turned out to be something small and I wasn`t charged for it at all.
I think I`ve actually found an honest mechanic.

I once had such polite service from a young kid at a Red Rooster where smiles, a great attitude, as well as going the extra mile to bring the product out to me instead of calling me over when I was on the phone.

I was compelled to tip.

And when I tip where ever I am I like to say in front of the boss 'This is just for you'.

I'll be positive with the exceptional service bits

The Apple Stores in Perth and Booragoon - fantastic service and I get the impression that people working there LIKE AND WANT to work there.

iinet service providers -
they don't always get it right but it's obvious they try to. And when they do bugger things up, they've gone well out of their way to ensure it's okay, up and running and actually monitor the problem for weeks after without telling you to ensure that it's up to scratch. I found this by accident some months later and was very impressed.

RAC - great mob. exceptional service.

Singapore Airlines - everything.

McDonald's Joondalup on Saturdays mornings. There's a casual overseas student who works on Saturday mornings and his service is exceptional. He's a Masters student at a local uni and doing this for the mullah on weekends and I gather he's returning to India upon graduation. His service is exceptional, his shirt weighed down with appreciation
medals.

Westpac counter staff. Great service but not exceptional and that's not their fault. It's not the sort of industry where you get opportunities to be exceptional but still - great service.

What disappoints me is when you've got companies known for mediocrity who have service champions who go above and beyond. They're not appreciated or rewarded or get pathetic things like gold buttons and bugger all else. What's the point in that?

You go back to the supermarket, hardware chain months later and the good bloke's gone 'cos he was under appreciated and underpaid and all the silly service dimwits are ruling the roost again.

I second you on the Apple store in the city, Suzy. Always great service and the folks there sure know their product.

Barque in East Freo. Quiet little small bar, great food and the staff are awesome. My date was running a bit late last Sunday and one the staff sat and chatted with me for about 10 minutes till she turned up.

Through the night she kept being cheeky behind Miss S by giving the thumbs up and blowing air kisses behind her!
