Easy Garlic Chili Minced Chicken Bowl

A quick comfort-food style meal that’s cheap, filling, and tastes ridiculously good over rice or noodles.

Ingredients​

  • 500g minced chicken
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (or fresh chili)
  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Spring onions for topping
  • Cooked rice or noodles
Optional:
  • Fried egg on top
  • Lettuce cups instead of rice
  • A squeeze of lime

Method​

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Cook onion for 2–3 minutes until soft.
  3. Add garlic and chili, cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add minced chicken and break it apart while cooking.
  5. Once browned, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey.
  6. Cook another 3–4 minutes until sticky and glossy.
  7. Taste and add extra chili or soy if needed.
  8. Serve over hot rice or boiled noodles and top with spring onions.
  9. Add a fried egg with a runny yolk — makes it next level.
