A quick comfort-food style meal that’s cheap, filling, and tastes ridiculously good over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 500g minced chicken
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp chili flakes (or fresh chili)
- 1 tsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp oil
- Spring onions for topping
- Cooked rice or noodles
- Fried egg on top
- Lettuce cups instead of rice
- A squeeze of lime
Method
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Cook onion for 2–3 minutes until soft.
- Add garlic and chili, cook for 30 seconds.
- Add minced chicken and break it apart while cooking.
- Once browned, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey.
- Cook another 3–4 minutes until sticky and glossy.
- Taste and add extra chili or soy if needed.
- Serve over hot rice or boiled noodles and top with spring onions.
- Add a fried egg with a runny yolk — makes it next level.
