Are the Eagles cursed?

Well the curse has definitely set in now .. even with the supposedly strongest team still can't get it right 😢

Im just really happy that Doob deleted himself. It was getting a bit out of control here. There are a lot of WCE Members like me that have between $1000 and $1200 a year invested in 2 Optus seats, with a 10 year minimum wait list (it took me 11 years and only then because more seats became available at Optus). So none of us are going anywhere while the team is underperforming. We dont have any choice, so may as well turn up and support them.

They got rid of the best mid field coach and retained Adam Simpson.
He was always going back to Hawthorn...and in the end he was forced to!! Simpson has been good but they're not playing for him now...it's time for him to go. The Board needs to make some tough decisions coz we're going nowhere. The list is not strong so it'll be a 'rebuild' for a long time yet!

Been a supporter from the start and will continue to be one . Just a bit sad that they can't seem to get it right 🤕

The bit I don't get is that the Eagles have 103,000 members.
People always scream when they can't get Derby tickets and it's always sold out.
Yet for 4 years now the Eagles home crowd averages between 36,000 and 43,000 in a 60,000 seat stadium.
I know there are always reasons some can and can't go, but seems to be a very big non supporting membership base.
Or I'm missing the obvious somewhere.

Replacing the coach would be as waste of time during a rebuild.
Current coach is there for the rebuild hopeful that when he departs the next coach will have a team that is finals bound.

Look at the other team in WA who for years kept sacking coaches.

A team does depend on having a good coach realistic about performance expectations and does rely on the players following the game plan.

On the day if your players are inexperienced and the other team is simply better there’s not a lot the coach or players can do but do their best.

A true supporter supports their team through good and bad times although it feels better when they are winning more than not.

I found this and was surprised by some of the stats especially given the past few seasons.

The maximum available seats for members is around 50 or 55,000 excluding corporate, government hangers on and seats reserved for interstate teams supporters. The rest of the members are people who have paid to be on the wait list but dont have seats.

I stand corrected on seat availability for members. I think the stadium is full at 55000 on fixed seating, but you can google that

We have been on the bottom of the ladder before, but more recent supporters forget that. This is what supporting a team is all about. The beauty is if someone gives up their seat there are 50,000 people wanting it and they will never get one back until we build a 150,000 seat stadium.

11 years is enough for a coach. A true rebuild should have a fresh coach with new ideas.
Zone defence doesn’t cut it in todays game: especially with the current list. I do believe Sam Mitchell played a big part in our premiership win.
Thanks Simpson but it’s time

Mutual agreement?
Probably told go now because you will at season’s end.

From a mental health pov a good move on Simpson’s part.

Why coach this weekend, good chance they’ll get thumped by a very big margin.

Will be good to see supporters and players farewell him.

Apart from the past few years a good win %.

Part of the blame lies with player recruitment the coach gets minimal say if at all.

Anyway he walks away with a Premiership, a lot more than many before him.

Ill be there at the game to thank him. I am at a loss to undertstand why the Board wouldnt wait till the end of the season. Its not like we are going to improve, just looks vindictive and pandering to the press and a lot of non member floating "supporters". Most of the other teams coaches on the tv tonight were saddened
