Ms Kenworthy believes someone with knowledge of her business may have helped the thugs to target her Langtrees brothel in Burswood just before 3.30am Wednesday morning.

Police arrested one of the men, 34-year-old Mokowhiti Katene Rikihana, believed to be involved in the heart-stopping robbery late on Wednesday night.

“They (the alleged robbers) definitely had inside information.

“They must have known someone with knowledge of the building based off the questions they were asking.”

I'll be real with you, I felt bad for one person behind the reception desk and for the girls. Everyone else.... well it couldn't have happened to a better place or to better people. Do we have the names of the assailants yet?
Don't take it other wise. Have you heard? The story of Fox and grapes. this sounds some what like that, You only feel the pinch when it's on you

Lmfao there's more cash at a brothel than a hairdressers, too. You'd always hit the brothel before anywhere else cause lord knows ya don't wanna pick a fight with bikies.... 😉
Some brothells are co owned by bikies.
hairdressers make a lot of money in cash a normal barber can get a high cash turnover on a Thursday Friday and Saturday morning.
Talking about bikies Melbourne gangster Mick gattos daughter is a hairdresser.
Pizza shops make a lot of cash as well.
Just add up the bills what it would cost to run a brothell for a day
Receptionist bouncer cost of towels sheets washing and cleaning tea coffee soft drinks lollies and snacks and other food for everyone heating cooling cost phone and computer insurance and other hidden costs.

Over east yes.... not quite as much over her in perth due to the fact that brothels are illegal... so it comes with too much risk.

Educated people will never think of doing such a thing, if someone who was really involve from inside Langtrees, must be feeling guilty by now after hearing how many people are disappointed.

And yes, happy that nobody is hurt. 💛💛

Dunno if they're fully illegal otherwise they wouldn't be operational..... I believe it's a grey area.... LT selling grog under the guise of it being a 'donation' and it going to charity.. well THAT is illegal.... lmao
Brothels in WA are Illegal by law but the police will not bother them unless shady activity is involved.

From https://www.criminaldefencelawyers.com.au/blog/are-brothels-allowed-to-operate-in-australia/

Are Brothels Allowed to Operate in Western Australia?

In Western Australia, brothels are illegal, as per the Western Australian Criminal Code.

As outlined in section 190, a person who assists in, manages, or owns a brothel, faces maximum penalties of up to 3 years imprisonment.

However, if dealt with summarily, the maximum penalty applicable is 12 months imprisonment and a fine of $12, 000.

This offence is also applicable to lessor or landlords of premises, who collect rent, with the knowledge that the premises is being used for prostitution.

Knowingly living wholly or partly on earnings of a sex worker, is also an offence, as per section190(3).

The same maximum penalty is applicable.

Thanks that was a interesting info clip. Before viewing the clip I was sure the robbery was done by ex Hillsong leader Brian Houston.

Money laundering in Australia is different:
• we're only about 3% of the global economy but in the same time zone as China BUT China's had big corruption crackdowns (well actually purges called "corruption crackdowns").
• Lots of wealthy Chinese own real property in Australia for a reason.
• The Australian Tax Office (ATO) is usually far nicer than any US/Canadian taxing authority, but the ATO has far more power than any US taxing authority if it chooses - revoking your so-called "right to remain silent" and not needing search/phone-tap warrants and having the power to deem unexplained wealth "income".
• After being useless for decades Australian regulators have finally got shit together, with casinos grovelling to keep their licenses and banks fined hundreds of millions of dollars.
• Money laundering in Australia used to be easier than pissing in your own pants and a major export/service industry, but you now need to be careful.
• In 2022 Money laundering is easier via global apps - imagine if you develop some online game that millions of "people" spend money on, while lots of people willingly answer adverts seeking people who want to earn high incomes while working from home.

I've seen a bit of Langtrees (with an inhuman part of my mind that only turns off if rather distracted). I've also seen lots of other organisations that are officially squeaky clean, but practically as amoral as businesses are allowed to be when encouraging investors. Langtrees is good.

The men then allegedly demanded cash from the tills with the court told Mr Rikihana then walked behind the counter and removed approximately $10,000 to $15,000 in cash as well as an EFTPOS machine.
Not chump change.
