As part of the trust and respect, you should also have some way of subtly letting your Dom know that you're at or close to the boundary of your comfort (or should that be discomfort) zone. This could help prolong and make the moment more satisfying for both of you. Mind you, a good Dom will/should sense your limits.

Bit late but oh well

We've never had a problem with our glass toys. They're slightly different from the snake, love the look of that though!
Cookies and Cream: We also love that you can see everything that's going on.
Ours have been slightly heated and chilled and washed in hot water without a problem. Must admit though I'm pretty careful and do check them for cracks, not the place I want to be fronting up to emergency with a glass cut to.
 
Interesting thread, I've looked at glass toys before but was worried about breakage....sounds like it's worth looking in to. That snake is pretty amazing!

I'm a big fan of glass dildos, but I'm careful about which brands. I always make sure the company polariscope them (not sure if that's how you spell it). Basically it means it's been checked with a microscope to make sure there's no flaws. If you've had a dildo break then it's had flaws - or you've thrown it against a brick wall in the heat of passion. There's also different grades of glass too.

Stainless steel is another yummy dildo material. So good (like glass) for slippery play.

Unfortunately both materials are super expensive.
