As a relative newcomer to the Canberra massage and escort scene, I thought my impressions may be of passing interest to others looking to dip their toe in. Hopefully, it might also be of use to visitors, experienced or otherwise, to the ACT.
Canberra has a reputation for being boring in general, especially amongst those who have either never come here or did so once on a school excursion as a 10-year-old. As a transplanted Sydneysider, having lived here for a couple of decades I can tell you it is actually rather pleasant, though sometimes you have to dig a bit deeper to uncover the gems. The same applies to the sex industry from what I can tell, but you have to dig even deeper. The fact that it is regulated in a sensible fashion (unlike, say, Vic or Qld) certainly helps, but it could do with some renewed vigour.
In terms of erotic massage, the premier establishment is undoubtedly Chrisindy's in Fyshwick. From the outside, it doesn't inspire much confidence but it's the inside that counts. This parlour has a very comfortable atmosphere, nice rooms and friendly and welcoming receptionists. There is usually a good selection of sexy masseuses on hand to satisfy most tastes and I can honestly say I have never left disappointed. Their rates are competitive and they offer a good variety of extras.
Unfortunately, however, there is a dearth of quality privates massage ladies in this town, with very few exceptions. These include Sarah (ex-Chrisindy's) and Abby, both located in the inner north. The other option is to try your luck with visiting PMLs, which frankly can be a lottery, but reliable regulars include Chilli and Ella. You can generally expect to pay a bit more here ($150-200/hr) than in a more competitive market like Sydney.
On the full service side, we have (had) a couple of classy private working ladies in Roxanne Wilde (aka Foxy Roxy) and Miss Ambrosia Rose, who have been providing quality service for a while. They are mid-range in price (>$300/hr) but worth every cent, you won't go wrong there. (Roxy may have retired late last year though...) Then you have the usual caravan of touring PWLs breezing through town at often obscene prices ($700/hr, really?) if you want to splash out big time.
The (cheaper) brothels can be variable, with GFE in Mitchell (north of the lake) and ACT Pretty Girls and the confusingly named Northside Studio, both in Fyshwick (south of the lake), generally providing reasonable choice at reasonable rates -- but no guarantees you'll find what you're after every time. You also have a few Asian shops in Fyshwick, such as Lollipop Lounge and Mi Mi Club, but I must confess I haven't gotten around to them yet.
Apart from the specialist sex industry websites, many PMLs and PWLs advertise in the Canberra Times classifieds and/or Cracker.com.au.
So that's Canberra in a nutshell, based on my recent escapades. Here's hoping Langtrees will bring some welcome competition and liven up the local scene!
