I can safely say that there are no used knicker vending machines in China. Please don’t choose your next holiday destination expecting to find them there.

I’m not talking rural China but I have seen them in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
 
Fair enough, I’m happy to stand corrected (particularly given I’ve only ever transited through HK and never been to Shanghai)

I've been to both every year, sometimes twice per year over the past 15 years, excluding Covid years, and I've never seen them in either city, I'm obviously not frequenting the right places, not that I would be in the market for said items either though. Never been to Japan.
 
I was in Japan late last year and saw them. Was in what seemed a normal area. Looked out of place.
