Why is it that men whom cross dress its called he's in drag, but a woman can wear a pant suit and she is just a normal non-labeled woman? why is it that men get labelled.?

After all most items of clothing were originally worn by men, then women kind of made them exclusive to them, how and why did that happen?

If you go to say DJ's in Sydney, the mens store's clothing options look like they are aimed at now 100% gay men, its getting harder for straight guys to buy clothing that doesn't send out some vibe that they are gay.bi or bi-curious to other men, where as women's clothing is aimed at women not aimed at a demographic of women, they are just for women, if they happen to be Lesbian, bi women or even trans-women its clothing that is 100% aimed at women, even the guys selling clothes to men are gay and dress customers into the clothes they want to see them in not what the customer actually wants..

If you look at designers of male suits in Australia they are cut in a gay way, if you look at women's suiting cuts, they are actually more masculine than alot of mens suits ironic I know, women's pants these days are far more comfier to wear than mens I mean office styled pants... Its funny how we ended up like this, why can't we just have one store not departmentalized in genders but one store, so if you are a man and want to wear a skirt suit why can't you? if you are a woman and want to wear mens suits or a mans styled outfit why not, clothing will never ever change your sexual orientation.

Find a straight fashion designer and you may have more muscular clothing. My brother started out in fashion before becoming part owner in a Melbourne restaurant. Opps not sure what button i just hit on your post phoebe as on my phone sorry luv

No button was hit.. Why can't we wear what the heck we like, really its only clothing, I would imagine if they said men can wear women's clothing and shoes, and carry women's handbags imagine the increase in sales, its like the Bridal industry is pushing for lesbian marriage why because 2 wedding dresses, jewelers want it too, 2 engagement and wedding bands, etc etc, the sales will increase... Lets make it about the bottom line on a balance sheet then men may say yes...

By whom? Not women..... women dont care... its men... sorry..... Men have to label, box and put into a group anything and everything.... Men are the issue here, I was with two women last weekend talking about these kind of topics they both said women we dont care, we just did what we wanted, our lives are not estrogen driven like mens are driven 100% by testosterone in every aspect they both agreed men are issue here not women..... ... BUT the irony of it is , Mad Mondays football stars dress up in dresses etc etc and men think that is all Ok...... Hypocrites men are....

who did they ask? No one....

cum on u 2 get of your soapboxes

I am not on a soapbox.... but it leads me to this, Heterosexual boys nights out are full of man hugs, touching etc etc and are more gay over toned than any gay man could ever conjure up, you go to pubs sit down and see how a group of hetero-sexual men conduct themselves in a group, there is always one alpha male that the group listens to intently, and he's the oracle of the group, they drop of every word he says, normally hes the one with the most coin...... but you look at the group always touching slapping bear hugging each other etc etc... its more gay than actually going to a gay nightclub..... gay men are all equals....

My GP put me on the lesbian when I cut my hair short and pink a few years ago I replied couples are more my thing he went quiet after that

"Drag queen" appeared in print at least as early as 1941. The verb is to "do drag". A folk etymology whose acronym basis reveals the late-20th-century bias would make "drag" an abbreviation of "dressed as girl" in description of male transvestism. The opposite, "drab" for "dressed as boy", is unrecorded. Drag may be practiced by people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
