Which suburb is good ?

Maylands, Bayswater, Mt Lawley, Ascot all close to City and good access to public transport and central to north and south of the River
 
The dynamics of Perth are changing all the time with public transport and inner city hi-rise appartments and all.
All depends on the lifestyle you seek be-it beach, restaurants, entertainment work etc.
Inner city or surrounds is being encouraged to bring life back into the city.
 
You didn't say if you're renting or buying but either way; Vic Park - both East and Central. The train lines makes it very accessible to the city. It has become a civilized version of Northbridge i.e. far less violence and drunken layabouts. Good shopping, GREAT library and GREAT swimming pool not to mention fairly cycle-friendly.

Maylands has a very rough edge to it but it's about the same distance from Perth as Loch Street Railway Station is. Subiaco, Shenton Park or Jolimont. Perth CBD itself if you're into apartment living which I'm not.
 
Floreat, Wembley, Jolimont, Subiaco, Leederville. Close to the city centre, easy access to beach, trains and freeway.

But lonelyman is right, the Albany Hwy strip in Vic Park if you want to eat out a lot.
 
This is happens few times on me , them live near North , Dianella, Orborne park , Asians (Korean or Filipino ) , when them know me live in south area .

Me : ……Yeah , of course ….May…be.🤓

Next time someone asks where I live, I say live in the carousel 🎠 shopping center 🏬 🤣

Haha 😂. Don’t worry I would never disrespect or approach you in public.
I’m to shy anyways and besides it’s impolite to let a lady to buy the first drink or ice cream.

My favourite location is Fremantle because of the heritage buildings, markets, coffee strip, sea air, general atmosphere.
