Stout was my first drink, bought by my brother who was in the navy, after that lager and then to vodka and other bitters but my fav is vodka. Bummer that i am not supposed to drink anymore but i slip in a few for "medicinal" purposes lolIn my younger days back in the North East of England you weren't a man if you didn't drink Newcastle Brown Ale and it was a truly awful brew. I think the base ingredient in the brewing process was paint stripper. Another one worthy of mention is the original Theakson's Old Peculiar. You were proper ard if you could drink 5 pints of that without passing out and keeping it down. Of course nobody drank spirits as that was the domain of those southern softies.
