What is with selfie's?

I didn't think I was old until I started recently working with girls in their early 20's. Amongst other things I really don't get the obsession to take selfie's every five minutes? Am I missing something? Or are there people put there that actually care that you just had a meal/brushed your hair/ took a dump?
 
Ahoy;- The selfie world is a new horizon, for W/L and the adult industry it has become a great tool for promoting your services. Personally I am not into selfies but I DO see the positive side and the impact it has.

john lou Have you ever seen websites like the ones I found in Chile Where if you are a registered member and you visit a girl who advertises on their site you can click on her profile and state how close to true the photo is, if the girl is not as advertised ?

After each verified member clicks the retouched percentage on the girls profile increases Keeps BC girls away I bet

I didn't start taking heaps of selfies until Snapchat came along
You can have full conversations with that app
When I was pouting or making a funny face I was also writing things on it and talking to people at the same time.
It helps alot with my friends and I because I can see what they are doing and I feel like I'm seeing it in person instead of just reading about it on facebook
 
I agree a genuine selfie in a WL's ad is much more useful than a professional model photo pinched from the interweb. But I think the OP's query was more about the incessant narcissistic self-portraits of mundane situations that some Gen Ys & Zs in particular feel compelled to send each other or update Facebook with throughout the day. I don't get it either.
