Xhamster is now locked for oz. Just took 24 hours later than pornhub, xvideos and porn tube.
Opera browser has a built in VPN.
Download opera
Open opera
Click settings
Click VPN
Click 'turn on VPN'
Start several porn videos loading.
Turn off VPN.
This last step is because VPN throttles your speed of data flow, but once the video has started loading, it is already past the point where region checks are done, so you can turn the VPN off and the video will load at a normal speed.
If that's too complicated for you, find a supplier of VHS porn.
Alternatively, use sites that have porn on them but aren't dedicated porn sites. Like reddit or 4/8/532 chan or whatever other image board you like. as of yet these have not been impacted by the new laws.
There are almost certainly a bunch of sketchy porn sites from sketchy countries that don't care about Australian law, but I would steer clear as these are potentially loaded with viruses and/or not clearly marked content that may find you clicking on something which looks like regular porn but turns out to have bad news stuff in it that you could end up in trouble for clicking on.

Oh one more thing: don't be under any impression that a VPN gives you any kind of privacy. Quite the opposite really because when your VPN is running, all of your data flows through a single point. Which is controlled by some dodgy prick. Most VPNs, whether free or paid services, are side hustles owned and operated by data brokers.
Don't use it for banking. Don't use it for anything act where you actually value security and definitely don't feel like you can be a retard and do illegal shit because your VPN turns you into some kind of invisible super haxor.
It is fine for skirting regional blocks. Not really any other value in it. If you are paying for a VPN, you are a mark paying for something that comes built in to probably around 25% of browsers. That is less effective than just using tor if you want actual privacy. Which also isn't that private because it was started by glowies and around 2/3 of tor nodes are owned by glowies, so don't be a dummy there either.
Don't feel bad about realizing you are a sucker who is effectively buying air that is freely accessible to your nose, and don't fool yourself into thinking there is any added value that you are getting for paying for a 'superior' service. Just accept that you were silly for listening to some prick on YouTube that got paid to tell you something was worth paying for, terminate your surfshark/nord vpn subscription and start running a browser with a built in VPN.

definitely the case for free vpns - if you aren't paying for the product, you are the product
NordVPN has a no-log policy and seems to do ok in independent audits. However, they could see your traffic so I guess you are trusting them not to log it. Proton VPN seems to be another good option and not US based and open source code. I would argue you are safer doing your banking through a VPN than using shopping centre/hotel wifi

Proton I would trust, because they do a whole lot of privacy stuff with various digital products. Nord vpn I don't particularly trust. It's easy to say 'no log policy' but I have nothing to verify that.
If you aren't paying you are the product for sure. But even with payed services, like I said earlier, most VPNs were set up by data brokers. So even if you pay them, there is little reason to think that a company whose primary bread and butter is selling your data is going to respect your privacy because you slipped them 5 bucks.

This whole thing really isn't about porn. It's about surveillance. I see people saying 'they already know everything, so who cares.' but that raises the question if they already know everything, why do they need your ID to verify who you are?
Every few years, they tighten the net. And people say 'whats the big deal they already know everything' and 'if you have nothing to hide, why would you want privacy'
Go Linux, go tor, self host as much as you can and sign up to everything with disposable proton mail addresses. If a site demands identification, lie if you can and don't use it if you can't.

Social media companies have not kept all the ID they are collecting secure, which lead to hackers acquiring and leaking hundreds of thousands of drivers licences and passports, which enabled peoples violent exes to hunt down and murder them.
No reduction in kids on social media. No impact on the availability of porn to minors. Massive leaks of extremely sensitive information. Dead women.
This whole thing is a data security nightmare drafted by people with no idea how technology works. And governments are already looking to go further. ID needed for social media and porn is just a warm up. Already pushing for ID for operating systems and app stores in California.
