Hi all looking for some guidance, heading to Vietnam at the end of Jan, and was looking for a couple of recommendations for a good punt. Heard it could be problematic with the views on AMP’s in Saigon. Let me know if you had any success

I have someone showing me around HCMC, that also knows information about the sex industry. But when I am exploring by myself, the information there was helpful. I’ll be staying here until the first week of January.
 
I would add to whatever I said in that thread to be careful about having people show you around. There is a universe of scammers that will 'show you around' in a way that leads to you paying massively inflated prices and them getting kickbacks.

Having someone to show you around isn't a bad thing, but it's best done by having a friend over there or making friends with someone while you are there.

Plenty of options for meeting people while you are there though.

I lived there for many years so feel free to DM me if you want particular suggestions or have questions. I have put myself in this thread so I can keep an eye out of you are looking for anything.

A Canadian boy living over there for a very long time. Really nice guy. Great service. Decent prices. If your bike breaks down, they sent someone to my location with a replacement bike.

Not sure if he will still rent bikes to unlicenced people as I have been out of the country a few years, but shouldn't be an issue. Just keep 10 bucks handy to slip to the cops

Reminded me of the one time i was at this luxurious hotel by their beaches and went to the spa in the hotel. It was my last day and i've been curious about the spa. It looks super legit (modern furnishings, something like https://ambiencewellness.com/about-us/). Mind you, the massage was not cheap and the workers were all in uniforms so it gave off all the legit vibes. So imagine my surprise when extras were offered (I took up the offer, obviously). The lady was absolutely stunning as well. Man i need to go vietnam again... Probably also why I enjoy seeking out punts that are legitimate but offers extras. I am aware it's a fantasy/pipe dream though 🤣

I wasn't punting there but I like Nha Trang as well, it has a good vibe and as you say parties on the beach are great.

I like the Ambassador Club, Ana Marina at Nha Trang which has entertainment every night and a great seafood buffet.

Cable car to Vinpearl which has a lot of entertainment and the water show at night is good value
 
Heading back to HCMC for a few weeks in a week or 2.

I already know my way around generally and there is a girl was amazing at a place in thao dien i wouldn't mind trying to look up, but I haven't been there in a few years.

If anyone has a single best experience they had while they were there, someone to look up would be nice.
 
They don't have a red light district like I presume thailand does? Where you can street walk until you see a woman you like.
 
No. There are some girly bars on bui vien where you can find a girl to take home, but its nothing like the scale of thailand and it's real scammy and overpriced. There are some others on pasteur street, but the majority of them are joints where you sit around buying overpriced lady drinks for a chick that's gonna lead you on all night and go nowhere.

Little Japan is kinda interesting to stroll through. But it's very focused on Japanese and Korean tourists. Lots of bars where you are just buying lady drinks for company at the bar. Some massage joints with extremely hot girls, but the price is very high. Up to 5 times what you might pay elsewhere.

Still reasonable by Oz standards to be honest and a night in little Japan is totally worth it for someone who wants to check out what Saigon has to offer just for the vibe if nothing else. But your wallet is gonna leak.

Personally, I had my best experiences there at massage joints I went back to repeatedly that were not right next to anything significant. Had a number of girls I went back for multiple times. But it was a few years back and places open and close all the time, and even if he same places are there. The same girls probably aren't.
 
Going to be there with a wife and child anyway and only have a week or so in Saigon before I head out into the hills, so I don't see a lot of time for solo adventure happening and I probably won't even aim for a solo night on the town. Reckon I have one afternoon trip to a massage parlour in me. Maybe 2.

Feels rude to do anymore. Not going on holiday with my family to ditch them for 2 and a half minutes of fun.
