Thinking about starting sex work

I’ve been curious about sex work off and on for the last few months and now I’m thinking about it seriously. I am a student in Brisbane and have financial problems. With the uni year ending and no summer job lined up, sex work has become more of a possibility for me.
My plan at the moment is to work in a brothel during the summer and work part time during the uni year. I’ve had a look at several brothel web sites and while they are informative, I‘m not sure how to choose one. What I’m looking for is:
  • newbie and student friendly
  • flexible about working hours, particularly when I go part time when uni starts next year
  • good working conditions
  • located in Brisbane. The Gold Coast might be possible although the drive there and back puts me off a little
  • if you work or have worked in one before, what you thought of it… good and bad
I will be grateful for any advice you can give me.

Sorry I don't know much about the east coast to be able to help but I hope someone can help you out and give you good guidance xx

Does anyone have any opinions about Cleo’s On Nile and The Viper Room? I’ve narrowed my choices down to these two. They seem to have good reviews and they’re not too far away or too close.
Yes, you can assume that I’ve moved on from thinking about working to definitely going to work:)

I just hope you are sure that the actual work is what you want to do. The money is very tempting and addictive , I hear , but not always a good reason to get into any career. It thrills me hoping you absolutely 💯 LOVE having sex .. 😍😋🤭

Agree. Word of caution is that once you get in, you may never get out as the money is very good. Given what you are studying, me thinks it would be better for you to pursue that career instead. Just my 2c.

@voyuerism and @johnmatilda thank you both for your concerns. I thought about what would happen if I got too used to the money. Since I’m doing it to pay my way through uni, I think I’ll be fine.
I really enjoy sex and that helped me make a difficult decision. This is something I never expected to be doing but the more I thought and read about it the more comfortable I got with the idea of doing it.

Well at least you have given this some thought and I wish you well.Certinly starting with a well run brothel is a good step, were support is there if required. Later you can always venture out on your own. Good luck to with your studies, so you always have something to fall back on..don't just get hooked with the $$ make the money work for you , and your future.🤗

Thanks Aha. I plan to get out when I’ve finished uni. In the meantime I suspect a lot of the money will be eaten by uni fees and bills and the like

That may be in the beginning but there is a WL on here who said she doesn't enjoy the sex with clients.

I suspect there will be plenty of change left over! The money is good which is why it's hard to get out of. It's addictive due to the lifestyle it brings you.

The other downside is how it will affect your future relationships.

Either way, I wish you well.

Good luck with your studies and your new adventure @chaoticharmony. You may want to have a look at the Sex Industry Worker thread as some of the WL may have some useful advice for you.

I saw a post from her. I don’t know how I‘ll feel about it further down the track. There’s a chance I might feel the same way but I won’t know until it happens.

I think so too. I’ve been basing the money on very conservative assumptions. For instance I completely ignored extras. The money is something I’m going to have to be careful of.

I agree.
Either way, I wish you well.
Thank you:)

Thanks:) I’ve browsed through that forum and found a lot of useful info.

Don’t do it if you can help it. It’s not the worst thing in the world, But everything you gain will have an equal and opposite reaction in the long run.
