The Tool box

Just having a discussion with a friend
He bought a product He had a problem with a part They gave him a replacement which just needed to be screwed on
But he had to get them to do it as he has no tools

Now my question is Not should they ask him to fix it But What man has no tools or toolbox whatsoever
Surely Most Men here would be manly enough to have at least the 5 basic required tools
Or do you?

That goes to show your friend is not a tool. lol...

What is your definition of 5 basic required tools? Chainsaw, axe, shovel, cement mixer and bone crusher?

As an avid remote 4wd er. I have alot of basic handtools as an assortmentOf stuff to repair my vehicle out bush

Are my meat and two potatoes counted as one or three tools?
I'm not sure oz surfer I mean a tool is meant to make life easier
But surely the meat and two veg often makes a man's life more difficult
So is it really a tool at all?

Those sidecutting pliers in Farmboy's post are arguably the single most useful piece of hardware you can own. if you can get your hands on the genuine "Heart" brand by Winn Timmins of the U.K. they are the ultimate.

The ol WD40 is my fave If all the tools in the box don't fix it Spray it with WD40
Be glad I am not your doctor

As for the SC Pliers Yes great allrounder I have never had the Heart brand I have heard of them though
I know one of my boys used to get sucked in by false economy and go to salvage and buy good looking tools for $10 and have to replace them a few months later
I still have most of my tools And they were given me by my father Great quality

The above pliers are my favorite but are a bit expensive and high maintenance Bunnings hardware sell a Chinese copy of my second favorite the USA 12 inch crescent brand for $18 saving about seventy dollars on the elite brands

Yep, add a pair of good slip joint pliers and you can fix anything.

On cheapie hand tools - yes, Happy2 is dead right. Buy quality even if you are not a tradie. A non-tradesman has enough difficulties without adding crappy tools to his troubles.
