I'm very active when having sex I love to feel the other person so to be restrained forces me to be still and just enjoy what my partner wants to do to me.
 
Just wondering what is the best type of rope to use, for a first timer (using rope) Is there a general consensus?
 
Cotton sash cord is inexpensive and can be soft and is a safe thickness to start with. It can be washed with fabric softener to soften it.

Later, spectra braid / cord from a yacht supply shop is a colourful, resilient but expensive rope.

Sing out if you'd like some basic web guides on safe rope play to prevent friction burns, damage to nerves or circulation.

Yes.... That's what I've experienced too. Giving up control and the trust it takes builds intimacy. Done well, it doesn't need a lot of rope to restrain, but you might prefer the feeling of whole body immobilisation (mummification) and teasing.
