The Blade Runner...Did he do it...?

Well the trial of Oscar 'Blade Runner' Pistorius, is underway. For those who don't know, he is the South African sprint amputee runner, accused of shooting his girlfriend.

So...Did he do it? Shoot his girlfriend intentionally or as he claims he mistaken her for a burgular?

What say you?

Have a feeling he might get off like OJ Simpson. Not too sure about what the legal system is like in South Africa, but is it guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.....

I don't know whether or not he did it, but I thought his story didn't sound right. Let's see what the jury thinks after hearing all the evidence.

Ahoy, my opinion;- he is guilty, but the trial will become a huge entertainment event

Yes, Pirate, you are right. South Africans are almost as obsessed with sport and sportsmen as Australians are and the press will be all over this. It must have been quite a task to find 12 impartial people for a jury.

If this happen in West Australia and Pistorius was charged with Manslaughter*yes he would be convicted because he did it, It is undeniable .

Now if the Cops charged Pistorius with Murder* *well with the right Jury and a good legal team I would think he would have a 50/50 chance

*Manslaughter
The unlawful killing of another person while deprived of the power of self-control by provocation or under circumstances amounting to diminished responsibility or without intent to kill, as a result of a careless, reckless, negligent, unlawful or dangerous act including the act of driving.

* *Murder
The unlawful killing of another person where there is either the intent to kill, or the intent to cause grievous bodily harm with the knowledge that it was probable that death or grievous bodily harm would occur, or without intent to kill in the course of committing a crime.

Who would mistake their wife for a robber? seriously!
you get to know someone pretty well when your married to them....

You have to look at the evidence Linda she was in the Toilet , he sent a barrage through the dunny door , if not murder or manslaughter , extremely poor behavior .

i find it hard to believe that he did not realise she got out of bed, especially when he trust no one by having a gun under his pillow .

who would do that ??????

If guilty ,

Lock him Up

Take away peg legs

And he can crap in one of these forever ,

Even if it was an intruder, which somehow ended up in the toilet, wouldn't you think he would of shouted out who it was, and if it was her, she would have responded, before he unloaded the bullets through the door.

Umm if its like the australian judicial they don't have 12 more like 13 14 or more.
How it works in australia is all jurors hear all the evidence .. especially in a long trial jurors can drop out for all and any sorts of reasons
As long as theres 12 left you have a trial..
If theres more thsn 12 an impartial ballot is held and excess jurors are shed before deliberations.
Saves mistrails

He did not unloaded the bullets through the door old mate , Oscar DISCHARGED his firearm ,

Asian Guy you would peel a lot of spuds for that in yesterdays Army.

.....exactly........even the comment that he is apparently trigger happy isn't an explanation. This was planned........not by accident.

I don't have an opinion about whether he intended to kill Reeva or not, but to say he 'planned' it sounds a little far fetched. His life is ruined, regardless of whether he is found guilty or not. Why would you ruin your life to kill somebody? If he wanted her dead then there would be easier ways of doing it without unloading a gun in into a bathroom in the middle of the night.

Unfortunately that is not usually the case as mostly it looks like he did plan it with an intention to kill his Gf at the time and explain it as a accidental discharge of his weapon... at the bathroom door... after his Gf used it...

Ahoy;- it was planned and he is not a intelligent person, and he is guility, let the circus continue, I am sure the whole country is been well entertained.

Yes A.G words and spelling have trip me up many times , but there is a big gulf between gun toting and responsible firearm handling and ownership ,

Oscar has demonstrated what happens when hot heads have access to firearms .

again.......first of all the thing that he apparently didn't realise that she wasn't in bed and second of all the sort of ammunition he used......those bullets are only available on the black market and inflict nasty wounds on the victim. He shot her three times with those bullets.
Well it might not have been a long term plan but it sounds very much like a planned murder on the night.
Not sure if those breakdowns in court count for anything........other than they are either result of a split personality or good acting.

I don't think it was planned. I think Oscar has a bit of a temper on him. He had access to a gun, which he probably acquired for protection, as South Africa is not the safest place. On the night in question, they may have got into a heated argument, and his rage took over and on impulse he fired the shots while she may have gone into the bathroom. That accounts for his genuine shock and disgust as to what he had done. I do believe his emotions shown in court are real and he has deep remorse, but unfortunately, that does not replace the actions which he may have taken because he could not control his rage/anger.

Although, I do think he did it, I don't believe it was premeditated and was a result of not being able to control his rage. We can all speculate, as we are not privy to all the evidence, but that is my two cents.
