Sex swings and concealing the ceiling hook

Hi all,

New to the forums and is my first post (I hope its in the right section). I am sure that this topic has been discussed before but i am unable to use the search feature until I have met forum guidelines (6 posts).

I have recently purchased a sex swing for my wife for our 2 year wedding anniversary. She loves it and wants to hang it up immediately. The issue we have is that we have just finished building a new home and there are still many family members who have yet to see it so we do not want the ceiling hook to be visible to family and friends.

We have considered a few options including:
- a stand but it will be too cumbersome (to have to setup each time) and take up too much space in the house (not to mention the cost of the stand).
- the "Conceal in a smoke detector option" and while it is a great idea we have one just outside our bedroom door so it would be a little suspicious.
- Light fitting wouldnt work as the light is straight above the bed and we would like it so that I could stand on the floor and "really get into it" so we cant use this option.

This leaves us only with the hang something else on the hook when swing not in use.

Anyone have any ideas on what to hang? We are considering maybe some form of roof art (eg put in for hooks and hang a mosquito net type of thing).

I am sure somones found something great to conceal.

Photos would also be great.

Thanks sexy people.

We have a hook where we had a Jolly Jumbuck thingy for the kids. Supposed to be put on door jam, but our walls are 12 inches thick. Hook is 12 feet up, so no one really notices, but a few have. If you have not already got a curtain climber, say you're forward planning OR hang a chain from it to a pot plant with a climbing creeper.
I'm sure where there is a will, there is a way.

Put a little 12v downlight where you want to hang the hook. Hang a peice of chain over a structural timber above that you can attached your swing to.
When not in use all your see is the downlight. When you want to use it, pull the globe out and the chain will fall through the hole left where the globe was, hang your swing on the chain and away you go.
If you have a steel framed roof you will have to use this method anyway as there is nothing strong enough in the ceiling to support a swing. Even a timber framed roof you'll find the pine joists in your ceiling will bow under the weight, so its best to secure to something structural above anyway.

Hard to describe without a picture, but here's one that I'd seen used for the exact same reason:

Essentially, what you could see from below was a threaded hole in the roof. There was a small steel plate above the ceiling connected to the supports above (it hung just a bit above the ceiling so as to not stress the plaster.

When in use, an eyelet bolt (similar to this) was inserted into the threaded hole and the swing (or chain, or w/ever) was connected to the bolt.

When not in use, a small decorative feature with a bolt with the same thread on the back (similar to this, but not as elaborate) was installed.

It worked well because there was other similar features around the house so allegedly nobody ever caught on that the one was removable (or it's reason for being so).

If you've already mounted the hook, then as noted above, you'll need to find something discrete and decorative (maybe from Thingz or Red Dot) to put on there - preferably something that covers the hook. I can't find a link to one at the moment but I've seen those short extension cords that have a light fitting on one end and a light plug on the other to convert a normal ceiling light into a pendant style one. They have a simple base that is designed to cover the original light socket.

I doubt anyone would be suspicious of your second smoke alarm. The other ideas mentioned here would all be good too.

Oh I do love to see the creative mind at work for such sexually deviant acts.

Where are you Saige? A man needs your help
But Viper is spot on a taper pin in a major support beam would be ideal And many come with a capping device so they
are nigh on undetectable
