Don't forget a punter is also putting himself/herself in harm's way, through daty or kissing still. Protecting the worker is fine, but if a punter catches something through exchange of bodily fluids(vaginal fluids, salvia, sweat, backdoor fluids) from a worker. The blowback will be damaging for that business and worker. Same with the worker if a punters saliva isn't cleaned properly(internally also) , that could cause problems also.
