SA Laws Confusion

Hello everyone I hope that you are keeping more than well.

This might sound completely absurd but can someone in the know please explain to me the laws surrounding sex work in SA. I have read the SA legislation website and resources made available via SIN but are still a little confused. Just trying to do the right thing. Some sources say it’s illegal to pay but not to sell or visa versa, others seem to suggest it changes pending the environment so some clarity would be appreciated.

Wishing you all the very best.

From what I can see from a google search of SA sex work laws. One won't be punished for selling sex but will be punished for paying for it. So basically it's illegal but the sex worker gets away with it.

Advocacy & Support: For information on legal rights, advocacy, and support services available to sex workers in the state, visit Scarlet Alliance or SHINE SA.

The sex industry is illegal and not even decriminalised in SA. Any income earned can be classed as proceeds of crime. Brothels have always been raided and some private workers have a visits. Me personally as a private never any issues. I declared some income and paid tax. It was safer to do that. Now I have to much to loose and if I do work to build cash funds I tour interstate with safer laws
