Rough guide to Bali

I noticed these forums are a bit barren with Bali tips, so I'll just dump a few things from my brain. Please add your own tips to this thread. This isn't even close to a proper guide. I'm just waiting for my Gojek to arrive with dinner so I have a few minutes to type.

I won't be going into too much detail and if you're after addresses, just google it.

If you're doing the club thing, most large late night clubs will be swarming with available women. If trans bothers you, keep an eye out and triple check before you leave the venue. BTW, if you're on the fence about trans, give it a crack. Some of my best nights in Bali were with a cock. Not my usual style at home, but in Asia, the rules are different.

There are too many clubs that can almost guarantee you a root but I've always had success at Old Man's, Mexicoola, La Favela and of course Skygarden. If you don't go home with a worker, you may even find yourself going home with a fellow tourist.

* Taxi/rideshare drivers can be helpful. The later in the night it is, the more likely they'll have a mate of a mate who can get you someone. Even though they can be extremely useful, be tactful. You don't want to be thrown out on the streets. Don't be a disgusting slag.

* If you're in Kuta, Seminyak, Legian or Sanur, you'll be fine. Straying away from tourist hotspots will lessen the ease. Ubud has no workers.

* Sanur has most of the brothels. Google it, but the houses have an X at the front. Fishbowl setups.

* Denpasar has the upmarket venues. Spend a couple of hours there, get fed, laid, rubbed down, sing karaoke etc.

* Hotel security can be an issue. They have a habit of not letting in locals who give them the vibe of a SW. Bribe or find alternative options. Usually she'll know if she won't be able to get into the hotel.

* extras at massage places are called plus plus.

* Don't proposition GoMassage workers. Yes, they are super cheap but they make good money and will report you if there is any hint of sexual harassment. Do use them though if you're after a cheap massage. They are almost always great at their jobs. Tip them generously, tightass.

* If you want to try your luck with a random massage joint, don't bother with the higher priced ones. They'll give great massages though so don't avoid them either since I'm sure your legs will be sore and need a good rub. Most legit places will always instruct you to take everything off and leave on your underwear. If they don't mention underwear and the venue isn't exactly the classiest, you've got a 50% chance they'll proposition you after. Strip off, lay there. Every so often they'll realise they forgot to tell you to keep your jocks on so they'll politely ask you to get dressed.

* Usually Kuta/Seminyak/Legian massage parlors are a winner. Can't make any specific suggestions as they chop and change depending on the staff. Let them offer the service, don't proposition, just enjoy the rubdown and hope for the best. If you don't get an offer, there are hundreds of other places that you can gamble $8 on.

* I can't comment on standard prices as they fluctuate wildly. I've had a good time going from paying $0 (yes, free) up to $300. It depends on who it is, what is on offer and what my mood is. If you budget $50-$100, you're guaranteed to get your pipes cleaned out one way or another. My last lay cost me $80 (not including tips). The most I've spent was $500 and that lasted over several days.

* Tinder and Badoo used to be successful but these days for me, they seem to be full of legit people looking for husbands, scams or sugar babies. Once you match, they'll want to get onto a different platform like Whatsapp. If you do meet someone, always use reverse image search and get them to video chat.

* Wechat has a "people nearby" function. It's hit or miss. Right now as I type this, there are 2 definite workers (one trans and one massage plus plus) and maybe 1 potential?

* Openbo = open booking. i.e. sex workers. You'll see this on dating and social media profiles. Twitter and Instagram have workers advertising. Usually targeted towards locals and they'll increase prices as soon as they see you type in English.

* My current routine depends on where on the island I'm staying. If I'm in the touristy areas, I'll just wander the streets late at night and in a matter of minutes, I'll get a bite. If not, I'll open up google maps, find one of the many spam "sensual massage" links, whatsapp them and see what's on the menu. Websites and whatsapp numbers change constantly so if you find someone, you may never see them again via identical means.

* You might accidentally find yourself a sugar baby. Good luck with that. I've had... interesting experiences. Make sure you check their proof of age.

* Don't bother with Locanto. Or any other Craigslist-esque website. Mostly a hotspot for low quality trans, but even if that's your cup of tea, they charge 3 times as much. I figure workers know these websites are popular overseas so they jack up the price before they'll jack you off.

* Guaranteed gay massages with extras: Adam's Apple, Banana Spa & Elegantz

* Massage/spa venues with extras: Riverview, refrezz, delta spa, s spa, Ofis, royal, Flame Spa, Sway spa. Venues like Flame spa are strictly no FS but in most cases, they give amazing massages and HR/BJ. Never tried nuru? Now is the time.

* The above venues will get you some sort of action from $40 to $150 depending on what you need and what is on offer. Some may say that's expensive but it's a guaranteed thing and you're most likely going to get decent service instead of some shitty punt.

* Don't try to buy drugs, you idiot. Even if it's for Viagra or similar. Don't be that dumbfuck who gets on Channel 7 news.

* You might see some venues advertise a certain price online but then increase it when they see you. Tourists pay extra. Get over it. It's usually an extra $20 so suck it up cheapskate.

* Some venues refuse to serve tourists. Accept it and move on, horn bag.

In summary, it isn't all that difficult to get your end wet in Bali. Half the battle is choosing the location that you stay. The closer you are to the hotspots, the easier it becomes. Practice safe sex and travel with your own supply of condoms. Local condoms are clearly manufactured for preschoolers. I've had way too many people try to go bareback without hesitation (some were successful which became an emotional rollercoaster that haunted me for days), so be careful. Safe sex education is severely lacking.

First time ever, was getting a massage in Seminyak, she covered my bum with a cloth, said it would cost an extra 200,000 (about $20) for a bum massage, but turns out it wasn't any extra than a normal massage, nothing at all sexy, and def no hint of extra, said it would cost more, so I left after a good (if slightly pricey - but only $30) massage
