A Jury of six men and six women has found entertainer Rolf Harris, 84, GUILTY on 12 counts of indecent assault against four girls in the UK between 1968 and 1986.

He is due to be sentenced this Friday. He faces a maximum of 24 years imprisonment.

Rolf is one of those famous people you don't think about that often, but when this happens realise he's world famous……….but evidently a kiddy fiddler….time for him to take his punishment……….got no mercy for the child abusers, and don't care what their personal reasons for doing it was, of course Rolf may say his mamma never loved him enough or his father was a drunk abuser…………..sure lets weep for poor Rolf…………
I'm sure the girls he abused never forgot him……………..
 
This one I've struggled coming to terms with more than any other because I grew up with him on TV and he was considered as trustworthy as a parent.
I can never understand why some do this? I had a physically and emotionally abusive childhood but it only made me feel empathy and compassion for those that are vulnerable or have been through something similar.
The cycle of abuse has to be broken and everyone has a choice not to perpetuate it.
 
My money is on him offing himself before Friday.

Sad, yes. Disappointing, yes again but why the surprise?

How many of us really know Rolf, or any other celebrity for that matter? All we see is the carefully crafted public image which is the product of well trained manipulative P.R. people and a media hungry for material. You are more likely to get a clear personal picture of politicians than celebrities because pollies don't have the luxury of choosing when they face the media.
 
Yes too true about the clear picture, I guess the surprise for me is that I related to him as a child whereas I never did with politicians

I bet many mums put little Johnny and Mary in front of the TV to have a break While Uncle Rolf babysat them
I am quite pleased my boys were baby sat by Noni and John and the other babysitters at the Playschool house

Yes that's exactly it H2, mum had him as the trusted baby sitter and played and sang along with his records. They never did this with gough Whitlam :D

The Royals have very strong PR protocols I bet. I think he has a Honourary OBE or similar too Doesn't he?

we all read about parents , celebrities, leaders of a church ( any and all religions) and politicians

There must be someone I can trust.. I can't trust H2 cos he told me i can't... I can't trust my ex... hmm maybe it's an extra I have to specify?
 
You can always trust the people you pay money to...wait...maybe you can't because they will want to take more of your $....hmmm...ok you can trust your pets that's for sure.

Very true. Of course, it's not just celebrities and politicians. How well do we know anybody? Our colleagues, our friends, even members of our own family in some cases can completely blindside us. We all have secrets, some of them sadly are very dark. Part of the human condition. It was ever thus and ever will be.

That's why if you have one or two truly genuine mates Treasure them
I have said before young family members of mine are proud of their 100's of Facebook friends I am proud to be friends with my 3 great mate's
 
I also found it very sad as I also grew up with Rolf Harris .....
I don't think he will be around by Friday.....
You must feel for his wife.......
