Rochelle's old posts

I followed the development for the last 2 weeks......the efforts to save the lives of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran seem to go nowhere. As we speak the preparations are on the way to move the prisoners to Nusa Kambangan island.
I think those two should be spared.........I think that every case as written in the Indonesian constitution should be reviewed individually before executed.
Unfortunately I do believe they will be executed as the new president got elected on the promise of showing no mercy to drug smugglers. Giving in to the protest would be regarded as showing weakness.......something the new president can't afford.
Sad.

Well, people are right in saying the death penalty does not solve anything. And people know which country has the death penalty, but these idiots still run the gauntlets. I don't know if they have been coerced into this line of work or not.

Your right the new president is not going to show weakness by bowing to pressures from Oz. The ties have been sour for quite some time, I doubt the new president would budge.

all this drama could have been avoided if only they did not do the crime in the 1st place , they were not teenagers @ the time , and in saying that it is not a un-matured mind that made the decision to traffic drugs from a well known country who support the death penalty . the Barlow and Chambers execution in 1986 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barlow_and_Chambers_execution ) has been well covered by the media and millions of Australian tax payers dollars has been spent trying to educate people .

. they chose to ignore all the hipe , then so be it

their choice ,
sorry but a spade will always be a spade

This one get rich quick scheme that will not work, unless you are the top guy stepping on the foot soldiers who run your shit for you.

I reckon the risk and reward ratio don't quite match up, so I would put this scheme down as a waste of life and time.

And it all could have been avoided if the AFP had waited til they were on Australian soil instead of informing the Indonesian authorities

don't blame the AFP for the choices they made . if they didn,t do it in the 1st place for the quick buck then they be home with their family and friends .

First, I only feel sorry for the family.

Apparently, these 2 guys have done it before.

I guess AFP had enough of prosecuting criminals in Australia, spending time, effort and money (cost to us tax payer) with government provided lawyers, court, judge, multiple appeals then the punishment probably is light then they back on the street and not repentant then most probably do the same thing, its a cycle, costing the country lots of money and maybe for little positive return. The cost just add on when there are 9 of them. The last I heard, it cost us $70k plus a year to have someone kept in jail.

Now they may seem repentant given the death sentence, but only they themselves know if they have change in their hearts and mind.

Hanging, shooting or injection sounds barbaric in
the 21st century.

Just a thought , why not if caught red handed , shot on the spot at the airport in front of all there co travelers ?
Well I would be pissed off Imagine how much my travel insurance would go up if they have to start paying trauma counselling to all those you saw the executions

i feel sorry for the families whose loved ones have OD on the drugs that these ponies have transported the drugs closer to their neighborhood.

RIP my friends :-( :-(

Whats happened to the other members of the Bali 9 who were caught at same ytime .....Scott rush...Renae Lawrence? +5 others

I will remember that Next time PETA mentions Muelsing
Whats happened to the other members of the Bali 9 who were caught at same ytime .....Scott rush...Renae Lawrence? +5 others
They were given life sentences The other two were considered the ring leaders

The others that was strap with cocaine on their bodies only got life and reduced sentence, just because they were not a ring leader. But if on another day n time, if one of them were to do it alone ... they would have got death penalty ... its probably not consistent .. lucky for them they only got life sentence.

I agree with happy 2. The Indonesian President is offering no clemency for foreigners sentenced to death in Indonesia while he is pleading to other countries to spare the lives of Indonesians in a similar position. He's a total hypocrite pandering to home anti-Australian and anti-Western sentiment. If the executions do happen and I'm sure they will there has to be a payback.
