I would like to share few points. Firstly, i agree national media should act more responsibly, national interest should come first no matter what. Many Journalist are self-interested, i say so as they prioritize self interest rather than national interest. Secondly, though morally wrong, phone-hacking is normal these days, and spying is part of a game. Most countries does it including Indonesia. It's not in the paper does not indicate that it's not there. Finally, at this point, it's not important who is right and who's not but the best would be to find a solution and for Mr Abbott to ensure that our relation with Indonesia does not deteriorate. Why? simple, no one wins. And unfortunately, so far Mr Abbott is not doing that.

Well, I was very pleased to see Bill Shorten pledge bipartisan support on this issue. It is definitely not the time for political point-scoring and any little bit of adult behaviour in Canberra is welcome.
On Indonesia generally, yes, they are a prickly lot but, like the noisy neighbours, we can't ignore them and supporting a strong democratic Government there is in our best interests. Just imagine what could happen if a bunch of Islamic lunatics took over the place and they have quite a few of them both inside and outside of politics.
Our aid at least helps them to keep things under control and if we pull that we may well have to spend all that money and more to beef up our defence forces.
