Well I assume it is because I logged on to my usual "adult forum.com " and came up blank.
It was only after my friend pointed me in the direction of "talking sex" I rediscovered it.

How many people are still in limbo land trying to find it??

Yep, that happened to me too. Apparently there was a general message sent out to all members when the changeover happened butI never received it and found the board from "lost and found" on F.I.A. Mind you, F.I.A is pretty quiet at present too. Maybe the stockmarket crash has spread its tentacles into the sex industry as well.
 
yeah there was a thread put up by marianne,i got to read it anyway,but have to agree not much happens here,still thought one forum that covered everything was the way to go,just my own thoughts though.what i do know the old a.e forum was good till,well since the main person wasnt there anymore,maybe the moderators should review all of the forum again,so what are your thoughts temptme??i used to enjoy alot of things people wrote on the forum but maybe its just not the same anymore,most places that were involved are definately not the same,so maybe that has a big contribution,only my thoughts anyway..
 
Even the very best firm or marriage needs to keep re enventing itself.Fuel is needed to run an engine. It is up to the people who run the forum to have some input.If you do not maintain a house or garden it will run to wrack and ruin. It's all quite simple really the owners need to add there two bob..there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Vast tracts of the jungle where i live a have been deforrested....if nobody plants trees back it will be a wasteland.Wake up!!! those you know who you are show some intrest or close the thing down...put some soul back in.!!!!
 
Stormline - I think the change of web address certainly had an impact and the speed issues would not have assisted.. Spoke to several of the regular contributors that had difficulty with the speed and they couldn't be bothered anymore...Let's hope it picks up:>
 
I think the speed issue had a bit to do with it... but the change of web address really had an impact though... i know it took me a good week to find the new address. was only when a post i was still subscribed to sent me an email update i found it... if people dont usually receive emails from the forum they would have no way of finding it! i really think a redirection should have been put up at the old adultforums.com.au address to help people find thier way!
 
people get bored too i think we need more meets and get to gethers

I would have thought that interesting topics would get people talking. Yet I have posted several questions asking for opinion or experiences, merely to educate myself about this complex world I am indulging in, and yet most of the time I didn't get very many replies. (Thank you so much to those of you who did).

So as a suggestion, with love and respect, if you want more participation from others, perhaps give out a little bit of yourself and you may be surprised with the result.

I try and respond to as many posts as possible for that very reason!! i think the more people start posts, the more people will reply to them!
I guess now that the forum has changed names people may be finding it difficult to find (not just previous users, but new users too!) unless people come via the Langtrees site, where else can you find the forum now?

thnx for the reply temptme,i dont know i must of been lucky but i have never had any trouble with the speed,most times i just click on the email link that has been sent to me and there it is just about strait away.i guess everybody is using broadband these days,but which one would have something to do with it i would of thought,but hey im no computer whiz far from it..but true you need input from other people to make anything work.i just find it a little weird as to the nmb who used to use the forum.i guess though if you never went to the langtres site you would never know,thats how i found this forum and iwas a member of the old A.E one.i still believe that theres too many sub sections to this forum,im not knocking it ,its been very well done,just a point i found abit time consuming,only my thoughts anyway,so lets hope it picks up again...i used to find the reviews of the girls very interesting reading, along with many others.......
 
The speed issue was a pain but thankfully that has been rectified and hence I have been back on replying to more posts lately - it was something to do with the Java script etc (no computer whiz here). Yeah I can see your point about the sub sections - I am also disappointed about the competitions that don't get a winner... Keep posting and have fun..
 
Scarlett here..Rhett started this post(he's such a honey)For me the forum died long before it changed addresses,same old posts,same ppl posting,more than that it seems to have become an advetising and review board for working girls,I have nothing against the industry but personally find all that a little boring and I think there are other forums/sites for reviews etc. Just my opinion why I don't visit so much.Chris your suggestion for meets,a good one but we have tried and got little or no response,no one seems to want to be bothered....:angel12:
 
sorry my life has been quite boring at the moment, being single and all its hard for me to go out and about when you got a mortgage over your head and since there nothing exciting happening for me its quite pointless for me to post if something comes up ill let you all know but im not one to kiss and tell ;)

i think originally i joined this site to try and get laid but ive enjoyed the posts ive read , had some fun with some people here "Felix" if you remember him had some good times in gang bangs and three somes but now im just triiing to pay bills and eat

hopefully we can all meet one day :)

I've been a member of this forum for nearly 4 years and seen the ups and downs of it, but this would have to be the worst I've ever seen it. Even as an Administrator (unpaid) I find it boring to come on here and only check in a couple of times a week out of pure habit. I don't really know the reason why there seems to be a lack of people on here and I find it a shame but it seems like there's no-one around.

As for the competitions, I apologise as I am asked to start them off and run them, however I don't have the prizes or the say so when to give the prizes away. It looks bad for me, that I'm not fussed about, but when you say there's prizes for a competition then someone should have won doesn't matter how many people entered. Just my opinion of course.

As for Scarlett's and Temptme's views on reviews of the working girls section, personally I find that section not my cup of tea, however it's been one of the most popular sections for many months now.

I'm not really surprised Rhett started this post and most nights I come on here and I'm lucky if there's 3 others here with me. Now that's really sad!!
 
I hadn't logged in in some weeks before tonight... and was VERY surprised to find that in that time only one thread had been posted in in the BDSM, Fetish, TS, CD board!!

I tried to get the Melbourne board going a little but it feels like I'm the only one from Melbourne who logged in (any) regularly!

I lost a bit of interest from the quietness of the boards... I didn't know there were speed problems - my comp would always load the old forum just fine... it did take me a few weeks to discover this forum which I did by going to the langtrees site after the old forum being down for about 3 weeks.


Is there anything we can do to promote the forum and get it going again??
 
hi all i can appriciate that some people are not interested in the reviews especially if your not a w/l.i always found that was why so many guys used to log on to the old site as generally thats what it was about,then more peoople joined and there were many different topics talked about.yes there were always prizes given away and points for reviews of girls which were converted into dollars off bookings at the 2 establishments.that i guess bought alot of innterest to it.i agree with cavemans review there has to be alot of input and interest put into it to make it work..i see there are so many members signed up on here but as you say not many post anymore..i dont know maybe i have it wrong,i thought any good reviews of w/ls was a good thing and im not one to go into alot of detail,if a girl gives a good service theres nothing wrong with saying that as long as they are ok with it,doesnt mean there cant be any other subjects talked about.as long as it doesnt get personel its all good,and thats when the moderators would step in anyway.so if you can make any sense from what i just tried to explain at 5.30am sunday then i guess it was worth it...thnx all....
 
Although i am not in the industry and my sex life is somewaht boring at the moment (with the exception of the few times i come to Perth) i used to respond to posts on a regular basis because they were interesting and encouraged response. Now - i find very little to comment on.

On top of that i just find that because of the time of year (busy) and the fact i have three jobs at the moment i just dont have time to log on as often as i might like to.

As a moderator and like slavegirl i have been trying to think of ways to address the lack of interest but keep coming up blank.
 
something else to put in the mix..since logging onto the forums other social networking sites (facebook, myspace) have taken off and take up a lot of users time. granted the subject matter of the forums might not come up on facespace and you probably don't want grandma joining mybook linking back to your forums profile....but they are fun all the same.

When you log onto the forum, you can see at the bottom a little comment "Most users ever online was 296, 22-02-2005 at 05:37 PM" I was actually one of those people, and back then it was an interesting forum.

I logged on quite often to see what was going on at LPs as I was a regular there, but there were also other threads which were of general interest. Now we get reviews of W/Ls (great if that's your thing), competitions which never get a winner, and promises of big things happening with the forum which never actually eventuate.

A forum like this needs input from the owner and administrators to keep it fresh and interesting. I don't think the owner is interested at all in the people who keep coming back to the forum, so for me that is the end of it. RIP, indeed!
For me it is dead and buried.

I help run 3 forums, one a very large 50000 member one and two smaller 50 to 100 posts a day type forums, none of them are driven by the owner, admin or mods. Sure they've provided the forum space and the theme, but it's the membership that drives the forums, they are the ones posting the content.
If we want a fun adult sexual focused forum we have to find fun adult content and post it here.
 
I personally think the largest problem is the relocation of the address. I didn't find the new location until about 2 - 3 days ago...
 
I say again... and again... need to put a link from the old adultforums.com.au address to here! i'm sure thats one of the biggest contributing factors atm!
let's hope someone in a position to do something reads this and does it! i know it costs a few $$ to keep an address open just as a relocation(not much though!!!), but surely it would be worth it to get some traffic through this new address soon before everyone leaves!

I think rather than complain about lack of activity you people should put your energies into posting in topics, searching through the old topics and dragging something back up that was interesting but now is forgotten. Maryanne for her part should probably look into marketing the site to get some new members on board. Particularly from the eastern states as this has always been a WA-centric board and there is very little to get the interest of someone from back east if the majority of the action is in and around Perth.
 
Nothing wrong with a W.A.-centric board. That was the best thing about the now defunct Australian Escorts site. There is not much point in reading about goings on on the other side of this wide brown land when we can only sigh enviously about the choices they have.

Definitely, we need to get a few more stimulating topics up here to spark some discussion. I will see what I can do later.
