Raju the Elephant cried tears of joy after being freed

I found this story incredibly emotional it touched me made me feel sad and left me thinking

I thought why not share this beautiful story, so here it is.

This is the incredible story about Raju the elephant who had been in spiked chains and beaten and abused for fifty years.

After 50 years of inhumane torture, Raju “cried tears of relief after he was rescued by a wildlife charity in a daring midnight operation”.

Every day, the majestic Raju was forced to hold out his trunk and beg for a few coins from passers-by -- surviving only on plastic and paper for food.

'The team that worked to release Raju were astounded to see “tears roll down his face during the rescue. It was so incredibly emotional for all of us. We knew in our hearts he realised he was being freed.”

What a disgusting culture.

You mean like a culture which allows celebrities and churchmen to prey on innocent children for decades? Or a culture which clings to an outdated constitutional right to bear arms that enables mass shootings of innocents to occur with sickening frequency? Or a culture in which the elderly are all too often beaten and robbed of their meagre savings by junkies? Or a culture which for too long put up with young men getting pissed and bashing the crap out of, and occasionally killing, innocent passers-by?

I don't think you can write off an entire culture on the basis of this sad tale. There is evil within every race and culture that must be confronted. Don't forget that it was people from the same culture that alerted Raju's rescuers to his plight and who helped save him. It is a story that makes you feel both shame and pride in being human.

I will watch this tonight when i get home, I am worried I will start crying at work.
Not good for business.

Me too Tracey, i nearly watched it but i can not be bothered to put on more make-up. So later.... with a glass of wine a large box of tissues in my front room.
