Some of us like to believe that the higher the price of the W/L will mean a better quality of service but being the poor man I am I have yet to find out.
Does it only apply to W/ls?
What do most of us buy when shopping? Do you believe that a tin of Coles tuna tastes just as good as the one from John West?
Isn`t sugar, simply just sugar and doesn`t matter if it`s black and gold brand vs CSR?
Do you refuse to buy Coles or Woolworths milk because you think they are trying to give the poor dairy farmer a hard time?

I admit I tell me housemate that we should keep the Kleenex toilet paper for ourselves and let guests use the cheap stuff because I do feel there is a difference in the softness and my cute butt should be pampered...
 
Hmmm that's a tough one. I can't judge the service of WLs who charge more or less, that is something you will have to discover for yourself or maybe with the help of other Punters who reply to this thread.

I buy a lot of plain label products,,flour, sugar, oats all that sort of thing, I personally don't think the more expensive brands are much better. Generic brands for prescriptions makes sense to me as they have the same ingredients, its a given..Tuna you definitley get what you pay for as with baked beans, spaghetti and the likes of those sorts of things. Milk I buy the one with the latest use by date as I am very fussy and won't drink milk once it hits 3 days before the use by date, the taste changes and my stomach doesn't like it. Toilet paper,,NO WAY the cheap stuff, I have plenty of newspaper at home and wouldn't use that either lol

So yes some things plain label are just as good,,others you definitley get what you pay for.
 
When it comes to groceries, I buy the cheap basic stuff (sugar, flour etc) but milk and juice I always buy Harvey fresh. I think most stuff there's a difference. Toilet paper is perfect example. The cheap shit is 1 ply sandpaper.

I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for in life.

Buying cheap stuff like whitegoods to save money is simply false economy
 
I always buy Harvey Fresh milk because it comes from W.A. I'm with Smiley on medications, they all have the same ingredients. As for toilet paper it has to be quality like Kleenex, I don't like sandpaper rubbing on a very sensitive part of my body.

With W/L I think somewhere in the middle price range is the best. Never tried a high priced lady ($600 or above) because I get everything I want from a lady at $400 and can't see how paying anymore would get a better service.

And if in langtrees or similar having a chat and a coffee You are probably getting the equivalent of a Hour and a half two hours with a private Seeing as the get to know you and coffee is not on the clock

i've discovered that the plain/own brand supermarket bread tends to taste salty and doesn't last very long. Where bread bought in local bakers taste much better and last for a very long time and its because of this i go back to the same bakers time and time again.
 
Bread, definitely, has to be premium - Helgas multigrain or similar.

Coffee and tea: ditto - Nescafe Gold or Dilmah only.

Sugar, flour, tissues and toilet paper - whatever is cheapest on the day.

Tinned foods - I don't buy a lot but usually prefer known brands like Heinz etc - the home brand ones tend to have a lot of gravy/syrup/water in them.

Milk, definitely not the Coles home brand - I don't what they do to it but it tastes "off". Any other brand is fine.
 
Bread, Invested in a bread maker Good to know whats in it Milk Ol daisy doesn't let me down often
But tea, coffee decent brands Tea must be Orange Pekoe Had some orange Pekoe given to me by a so called friend who bought it from crazy clarks If it was booze I would have gone blind such was the quality
And if I do buy butchered meat Its from the local butcher not Coles Woolies At least they let the meat hang a good 20days which is still a little low for me but far better than the supermarkets
 
I am only fussy when it comes to instant coffee (has to be Nescafe), vegetables (rather buy in little fruit and vegies shops than supermarkets) and seafood (sealane please). Other than that I usually go for the home brand.......lol......even when it comes to toilet paper........as long as it is 2ply.

KFC are using canola oil with their cooking now. Would this be the GM canola oil grown in Aus??????????

Stay away from GM and "manufactured" food. Additives colours etc.....

GM canola will end up with the wild radish growing along the edge of the road. Farmers that I have spoken to say it's not economical to grow except on certain paddocks with resistance issues.

Mr Cock, top quality Australian canola oil is used at KFC. I'm also proud to say I have had some input into producing some of Australia's top quality canola.
 
I am not getting too cocky just yet , Canola (ConventionallyTT) From not up yet to 3MM across .
 
As in Supermarkets, price does not always reflect quality.

When buying steak (when my cows allow me) I always look for a reasonable amount of fat both on the outside and within. It can always be trimmed later. Most times this reflects flavour.

With a W/L, I look for the smile and the twinkle in the eye............ and I'm a sucker for long legs, long necks and decent boobs....... then I look at the price......... then the amount of butterflies in the wallet.

I wonder if we shall see GM Babes??!!

As far as W/L go had good and bad with both expensive and the cheaper.

As far as cars go German are far better that the rest but the cost is a lot more.

I buy my scotch fillet in big slabs and cut it to the thickness I like,,much better quality and much cheaper this way too.
 
I insist on quilton toilet paper double length roll as I am the one that ends up changing when it runs out, and then only have to do it half the time.

Haha. I would have thought the the person who ran out at the halfwipe point would be the one who had to change it. Otherwise, it could be mulesing time at the corral.

very true.........but it is a bad move to buy a German car over here......apparently it is a real pain and rather expensive to get the parts.......and let's face it........a real German car needs to have the steering wheel on the left hand site when sitting in it ;) xxxxxx

Rochelle yes the parts are very expensive but the trick is sell before the warrenty runs out and make sure you are insured with a good insurance company.

I believe you get what you pay for.

Quality comes at a price but having said that a wl wants her prices to be competitive.... As I can only offer outcalls I have already halved my clientele right then and there so I need to be 'affordable' but still rule out unsavoury clientele.
