I’m about to start a 12 week course of chemotherapy, in the literature provided by the hospital it tells me that my resistance to infection will be reduced. I wondered if any of you have had chemotherapy in the past and did you still indulge with the ladies given the exchanges of body fluids etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated I’m normally a once a week guy and the thought of 12 weeks abstinence and possibly longer is not something I would welcome. You’re welcome to private message me if you need to.
Hey there, my friend. First off, I just want to say you’re strong. Facing chemotherapy is no small thing, and it takes courage to even ask questions like this. I respect that.
The road ahead may have its challenges, but the most important thing right now is your health, your well-being, your strength. Your body is about to go through a tough battle, and every ounce of energy you have should go toward healing and protecting yourself. That means being mindful of infection risks, getting plenty of rest, and giving yourself grace if you need to adjust your lifestyle temporarily.
Intimacy is a beautiful part of life, but so is making sure you’re around and healthy to enjoy it for the long haul. Maybe this is an opportunity to explore different kinds of closeness and deep conversations, emotional intimacy, or even just taking a moment to appreciate the presence of those who care about you.
Twelve weeks might seem like a long time, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s a short chapter in your story. And you, my friend, have so many more chapters ahead. So take care of yourself. Listen to your body. Surround yourself with love, and remember you are not alone.
Sending you strength, patience, and all the good vibes in the world. You’ve got this.
