Both the religious moral crusaders and the feminists are against prostitution. In the USA both the religious Right and the Feminists left want prostitution to remain illegal. Religious right believe it is a crime against morality and the sex workers and their clients should burn in hell! The Radical feminists treat the sex workers as victims and white knight male feminist come to rescue them and punish the bad evil clients for abusing the sex workers.

with 40 years under my belt in Perth next year and a operator of several escort agencies & bordello's I have found the ladies make their own choice and many think about if for 6 months.
When we have a newbie interview only 1/2 start in the industry. I have had ladies come to work purely for a sex life as they have a high sex drive. I've had 18yo turn up on their birthday for a interview with mum waiting in the car because at 16 she decided this was the career choice for her. The majority of sex workers are single mums just trying to buy a decent pair of shoes for their children.
I find if the lady is 25 & over when she starts she achieves something from the money she earns, be it a lifestyle, a car, a deposit for a home.
The young girls that start have a much lower success rate of achieving their goals because they have to much money at a youing age, they have no appreciation for it and blow it on boyfriends & recreational. I highly recommend that every new young worker works at least a year stacking shelves at Woolworths before starting...this way she respects the money she earns & does something useful with it.

This was by far best understanding about choices, needs and attraction. Clears out how it works all around. Thanks for sharing

very true @Mrs Langtrees. Previously I used to think before why do people do this but now since I am watching it so closely I understand. Some do it in need and some for fun. And yes because of these escort agencies & bordello's many girls can walk freely. If these places were not there then just think, of the book. the men who return home after their hard work and has no wife or GF... where would they go? ... They will catch hold of the girls they see on street and as a result, rape crime etc. So we must respect prostitute

People say that, but there isn't much research to support that idea (though there is some). There is also some (equally slight) research that suggests that prostitution fosters rape. I haven't seen any research I find the least bit convincing one way or another. The whole thing is so context-dependent and complex.

But I don't like the premise anyway. I don't like the idea that it is somehow a good thing that certain women act as sacrificial lambs to distract violent criminals. I like to think that most of the men who come to see me are good and decent, and that they come for something more than mere physical release; most of them have learnt how to masturbate after all. I'd like to think I get paid for being a skillful provider of pleasure mixed with generous helpings of empathy, fantasy and excitement.

I don't want rapists to come and see me. I think they should have a little room of their own to go to instead. Just like the one they will have in hell.

Gee that really is a pretty crappy combination of words given that if I said something derogatory towards women on this forum I would get hang out to dry!
I think you are reading Sallys words wrongly also English is her 2nd language

Not Sally's point she is saying that woman mostly make their own choices now days, some asian, south american & european countries still force work on girls, but it is very uncommon in the western world and improving all the time, I would estimate that 95% of all workers world wide have made the choice to achieve a better future for themselves & family or just love the lifestyle.

Thankyou.
[CONTENT WARNING: Nasty question]
Possible slavery was one of my biggest concerns before I started seeing professionals just last year. I know I'm as oblivious as an autistic white man.
I think I've never seen a sex slave in Australia, but realistically I'd have no idea.
How could a punter like me ensure that my cash didn't support slavery in Australia? I could make racist presumptions, but I'm wary of my own prejudices. Thankyou.

" No woman fights to become a prostitute; she is in prostitution because her fights for any other life have been lost".

I have just finished reading a paper by Catharine MacKinnon, a well-known American feminist, scholar, lawyer, teacher and activist, specializing in sex equality issues under international and constitutional law.

The statement above in blue is one she puts forward.

She also claims that "It is well documented that most people who are prostituted worldwide want to leave it and cannot".

She concludes by saying "Prostitution is demand-driven. Pimps are in the business to make bank deposits, and the engine of that process is the buyer. Criminalizing the buyer is the best approach because it is the only approach that works."

Your thoughts?????
As a WL/SW in Australia I can honestly say I threw myself into this industry based on pure curiosity alone.
I then fell inlove with the job, sure it’s been a big financial help but I never felt like it was a “last resort” or something I’ve ever been “forced” to do. I really love my job and enjoy meeting wonderful clients.
Don’t get me wrong there are some absolutely nightmarish situations within the sex work world. However this truly isn’t the case for everyone.

Every WL i have seen have said they enjoyed thier job... maybe its a lie or have attitudes just changed... when i was growing up it wasnt a matter of one night stands you had to work for it... then i was talking to a friend around 5 years ago that had just got divorced and he was dumbfounded... could go out any night and just had to start a meaningful conversation and could get sex...

So I think times have changed .. most WL are doing it for themselves now.. I mean it's not as if there is no competition these days .. if the boss is bad or the money bad they can go down the road and try somewhere else...

I'm definitely not forced into it... I stumbled upon this industry and I love it! I wish I had done it sooner.. all those years wasted in a 8/5 job where instead I could have been doing this! Glad I found it when I did! I find it a little addicting... the thrill I guess!

I come from a very good background and I don't participate in recreational drugs just a girl with big boobs making the most of her assets 🤷‍♀️

You are certainly making the most of your assets... I am sooooo glad you love what you do as you certainly showed it when we met ..

Or when Centrelink doesn't pay enough, or ex-husbands, defacto husbands don't pay maintenance.

Not every sex worker is a drug addict and has you ever thought that some woman like lots of sex so what not get paid for having fun. Being a good sex worker is more than pleasing men. I personally don’t see why the need to degrade or downplay the importance of companionship and intimacy provided
Sadly the drug addicted girls can spiral down a rabbit hole. I was in a client/friend relationship with one .. her addiction was costing her $200 a day when I first met her within 9 months that had risen to between 4&$500 a day. Earning all that cash can be both a blessing and a curse. Sadly with that extra pressure what integrity there was in that fledgling relationship passed.

I have no problem with this. My employer wouldn't pay me after I've left the company so why should a man pay a woman maintenance for a relationship that no longer exists and from which he no longer derives a benefit (assuming that there was a benefit to him in the relationship)? Why should he pay for a marriage contract that has been broken?

What if there were kids that were his and hers?
