The National Arboretum Canberra is the national capital’s most popular new attraction. More than 500,000 local and international visitors have visited the 250ha garden, which has risen from the ashes of a pine forest destroyed during the 2003 bushfires, in the first 12 months after opening last year.

The hilltop estate, which offers views across Canberra from the cafe in the Village Centre, is still young with the majority of the rare and symbolic trees collected from around the world still only saplings.

I love the Arboretum so much that I offered to take a WL who was visiting from Perth there a couple of months ago. She also loved the views, sculptures and hot chocolates!! Great place. xoA
