In this day & age we would hope that we would not want nor need to keep up with the Jones ....
Nowadays we tend to want to have a comfortable lifestyle that suits us .... Don't you think we have become more evolved? Maybe not?

It can certainly buy choices that lead to happiness.....but so many may not have the wisdom to make these choices.

Think about lottery winners that have no idea how to have that much just destroying themselves in a few years.
 
A long time ago I heard a saying which stuck with me and I believe a lot of my friends live by.
" Money doesn't buy happiness, but you can have it better in misery."
I always took it as that you you can have your up in down and your friends will have their up and downs financially. We never will judge each other on that and we never would. And be happy when your friends improve their situation, as they should when you have as well.
