Dita Von Teese;- born Heather Renée Sweet, September 28, 1972 is an American burlesque dancer, model, costume designer, entrepreneur and occasional actress. She is thought by some to have helped re-popularize burlesque performance and was once married to Marilyn Manson.

When Von Teese was a teenager, her mother took her to buy her first bra, made from plain white cotton, and gave her a plastic egg containing a pair of wrinkly, flesh-coloured tights. Von Teese says she was disappointed as she had been hoping to receive beautiful lacy garments and stockings, of the type she had glimpsed in her father's Playboy magazines. This fuelled her passion for lingerie. She worked in a lingerie store as a salesgirl when she was fifteen, eventually as a buyer. Von Teese has been fond of wearing elaborate lingerie such as corsets and basques with fully fashioned stockings ever since. In college, Von Teese studied historic costuming and aspired to work as a stylist for films. She is a trained costume designer, often designing (and copyrighting) her photo shoots herself.

So………….Do you like women who wear corsets?

I like the first one, the second just looks like a bad cummerbund. Guys corsets need to be cut differently rather than just modified ladies cinchers

Yes, corsetry training is now a thing. And yes, I've already ordered a couple of steel ribbed ones. Dita watch out!
Things You're Dying to Know About Waist Training

An expert corset maker explains why waist training offers more than just a trimmed-down torso

Why do you think waist training has become popular again?
There has been a gradual return to celebrating the feminine form over the last decade, and several celebrities have contributed to this shift in "ideal body type". This started with Dita Von Teese, and now Christina Hendricks, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Nicki Minaj are also capturing lots of public attention, not only for their talents, but their figures: voluptuous and very small waisted.
What's involved in the process?
To genuinely reduce your waist, it's necessary to wear a corset on a fairly regular basis. Daily is ideal, but even a few times a week will affect your waist's flexibility.
What are the benefits/results of waist training?
Speaking for myself, I notice that the more often I wear a corset, the easier it is to pull my waist in, and the longer I wear it regularly, the more dramatic the results. One of the benefits I've seen from corset wearing, not just waist training specifically, is that people see themselves in a different light, often seeing a shapely waist in the mirror, maybe for the first time ever. Since, as a society, we value slenderness, it can be very empowering to simply lace on a waist as it were.

Corsettes are just plain sexy!!! They have the ability to make even the most unshapely woman seem curvetious and supple. I, personally LOVE to wear them. Whether they are the traditional bone inlay or softer insert style that allows the lady to relax her posture, I believe they have an undeniable sexual appeal and when strutting around with confidence, lace, satin, and an overflowing bust who can deny the irreplaceable mark that corsettes have on a woman's lingerie range!!!!

Well said, Roxy, but did you know 'corsets are blatant woman-hating', 'not radical feminist friendly', 'dangerous and alter the female body for external approval', 'humiliating for a woman to wear them' and 'an act of female body hatred'? 'CLEARLY performing femininity is anti-feminist, as it is unnatural and constricting.'

I hope you feel duly chastised and chastened, and on behalf of the patriarchy, please accept our apologies.

OTOH, there's
The Woman Who Wears (and Sleeps in!) Corsets Every Day :)

So it's OK then. Let's return to perving on Dita and other 'oppressed' women... :D

Well despite this researched and very educational response I feel that a woman that can confidently restrict, control, flaunt, and parade her body whilst obviously demanding respect, being proud to be a sexual being whilst wearing the most coverage lingerie can offer is a very feminine and empowering act! It's not 1820 anymore toto lol

Ahoy;- Empowered women wear corsets
Raise your Glass-up high and salute all empowered women who wear corsets.
