I would rather be happy than have money, but you need to be able to live with some comfort..
 
money to me means:

warm jackets clothes and bedding
being able to fix or replace something if it breaks
not running out of credit on my phone
paying for people to help you when you need extra help, such as a babysitter
having money for the train
having money for lunch
not being dependant on a man
superannuation
private health insurance

there is a MASSIVE difference between when you have money and when you don't.

I dont think having sixteenpairsof sunglasses is going to make my life better, bt I am fairly sure that being able to fix my car if someone runs into it, or being able to afford comprehensive insurance, will absolutely make my life better.

I agree with most here
i dont want to be rich
But i also don't want to be living pay cheque to pay cheque
as i am now
Having some money in the bank for those unpredictable situations would be nice
Or of course to be able to take my kids out with out having to save money first
unfortunately there is NO spur of the moment outings for us
 
no thanks..im only 61 and im struggling now,,im all for euthanization when the times right WE should be the ones to decide
 
I think I would wield a couple bags of sulphurs instead of deadly weapon and a couple of cloves of garlic just in case.
 
It takes $ to live long these days, health insurance, etc etc...and when you get to a certain age, no one wants to hear from you or about you anymore. There are certain things you can't do anymore and don't wanna do anymore. You've seen it all and your daily task is to sit there and waiting for grim reaper's arrival. So thanks but no thanks. lol

There's a mind over matter component too! The world is full of people that can't see themselves living to an old age, with all the resources at hand today, good food, interesting ways to keep active, I love life, its a gift from god (god being the one who created the first organism, whoever and however that happened), its quite sad some people dont have the will to grow old Everyone is popping pills, taking drugs excessive drinking, I don't fit Into any of those demographics, my ex couldn't see herself living past 70,...on ya bike then sweetheart, and a vegetarian too, some people are confused. OK that's my rant, if only I could get to 100 at half pace, that would be like living to 200....lol...;-)
 
Omg no!! Being half that is bad enough, people want younger people for jobs and relationships and unless you had great health and plenty of cash, I see it more like a prison sentence.

Old age is great if your independent and healthy My father passed at a very old age and we all thought he would make a 100 But he was fit and strong and still held his license His "Baby brother the same
Other people are unwell and only pups of 80 but lifes a struggle

Anyhoo how can so many say Ooh I want to live to a hundred yet have spend say $50k on anti aging products or more because they are also fighting tooth and nail to stay young

Yes I think you're right H2, if you're independent, healthy and aren't living on your own. Your family has some great genes going on there me thinks! :)

Yep, the only anti aging product I need is regular sex, but I seem to meet all the women that want to age LOL! :rolleyes:
 
A friend of ours died a couple of days ago at 92 and I have to say he had a very full and interesting life and was quite ready to go. Two years ago he was chugging along nicely, but there comes a time when you know enough is enough.

My youngest brother died at 49 which was way too young. I have my mother's genes I suspect and she is spending her way to the end just in case heaven doesn't happen. I think she's good for 100, so I suspect a 90 something end is nigh for me. That will be more than enough. Hopefully I have a stroke in my sleep and its all done in 30 seconds. If your suffering then plug pulling looks a much better option.

Imagine if no-one ever told you how old you were, and you couldn't count.....age would be irrelevant, or putting a spin on things, you didn't pay by numbers but by colors, namely fruit colour representations. That will be 3 oranges one pine apple and an apple please, I wonder just how our value of these objects would change.
