Brothels are illegal in South Australia.
Prostitution isn't in itself illegal, but the receiving money, soliciting, etc is, so even with all the confusing law, in effect it is.

There are actually people who have been fighting in May/June 2010 to decriminalize prostitution and make it legal. It's lead by backbencher for Labor, Stephanie Kay. They protested at Parliament House in the city some time in June. I'm not sure how far they are getting though, I don't know much about it.

As for the client of a brothel or a Working Lady, procuring the services of a prostitute is illegal.

Hey everyone....I am new to the sex industry in Adelaide as well and have been thinking about going visiting one of the brothels around Adelaide. With reference to Eve's comments - is there a big risk (legally) if one had to go to brothels in Adelaide?

Whilst the industry is technically illegal in SA you should have no problems if you stick with reputable long term brothels such as Studio 207, and any of the ones in the adult relax section of the Advertiser with larger adds.

Adelaide has around 20-30 brothels, a healthy selection of privates and groups of ladies who share premises.
