Hi,

Im a 29 year old in Perth, looking to get into the business... I'm a size fourteen and reasonably attractive, very easy going and love talking to people.... Im hoping someone could give me some advice on what to do? and if im doing it from home how safe is it? how much do you charge?

do a search on google and read up on a lot of information from differant sources..

also check out langtrees website www.langtrees.com/dateline and see how the girls advertise and their prices.

I wouldn't recommend to work privately to start off with until you have a bit of experience, but each to their own, it's up to you but get experience behind your belt first and you will always learn lots of tips from other girls if working in an agency first. This can start you off, then when your ready to go private do so then.

Ring up the agencies and chat to the people who hire and get a feel for the places and even go in and visit them till you find one you feel comfortable with
 
hi beckybabe, what was the outcome of your deliberations? Are you still thinking of starting in the business?
 
The best way to get all the info is go to two or three places for interviews and check out how you feel about their approach.
If I was just starting as a 29yo I would then work for each place for two weeks each to learn as many tricks of the trade and then make up my mind whether I should go private or work with others.
Had I not taken over a parlour Private would have suited my personality and lifestyle better than working in a parlour.You have to remember it is your individual choice, but do get some inside info from working for others.
 
You are welcome.Your thread made me remember when I first arrived in Wa at 27 I didn't know who was who so off I went on a Saturday Afternoon to happy Haven for a interview.Ended up doing 6 to 8 bookings in the afternoon because couldn't escape but left the interview with $400 which was great money in 1983 and knew it wasn't my type of place but learnt heaps at the same time.
When ever the ladies at Langtrees get a little uppidity, I always say Do you think you are better than the Happy Haven Girls?
When most of them say of course ...I say well I worked their many years ago does that make you better than me.
It gets my point across that we are all the one and same.Happy Haven has since closed but in its day it offered a wonderful service to the guys in Perth that didn't have a lot of funds and I respect the work the ladies their did with the handicapped and pensioners who still needed the warmth of someone but very limited funds.in 1983 their cheapest price was about $20 for 15 minutes and I think when they closed 2 years ago it was around $50 for 15 minutes.

I started from home and worked there for two years and earned $880 in my first day my phone just ran off the hook. That was charging $100 for half an hour, no french no greek - you charge extra for that. These days you could charge at least $120.
Magenta 9328 1387 gives independent advice to new workers - I went there - on safe sex, inspecting clients and even if youre unsure how to structure your booking and take phone calls. Working from home you have to be tough know your standards and stick to them because there is only you to rely on. In two years nothing ever happened to me - though Id be wary of waorking alone at night, I did once have a lonley guy who wanted to be my boyfriend.

In terms of working other places - like Mary Ann said just ring up go for your interviews have a look around and try out a shift - if you like the girls and the clients and just the feel - stay for awhile. There are pluses and minuses of both. I started at 22.

My newspaper ads always did well as well. Im here if you need to ask anything else
