Seeing as how there has been a bit of chatter about Thailand in the last few posts - I've been many many times, don't be too quick to judge and assume that all the ladies there are 'cheap' and 'nasty'. Yes, obviously, cheap, and particularly _nasty_ is available there, as here in Perth if you're looking for that type of adventure.
I've posted on this subject here before. Its easy to fall into the trap of thinking that because the Aussie dollar is very strong compared to the Baht that a 'cheap' punt in Thailand must be extension also be nasty ... simply not true. There is a very large and thriving culture of WL's in Thailand, particularly BKK, who are unbelievably expensive by local standards, they are clean (yes, they get regular checks), wonderfully social, speak many languages are often highly educated and really know their business.
At AU$200-400 a day, these girls will make what is a very respectable monthly wage in local terms in 2-3 days, many of them are multi millionaires in local currency which puts them head and shoulders above their friends and family. These ladies certainly are _not_ working for a bowl of rice.
For about AU$6000 including airfare, 5* hotel, food and lovely company 24x7 one can spend 2 weeks in the land of smiles exploring the beautiful country with your new friend.
There is no easy way to compare Perth or Australia at large with such an experience. Australia is not better or worse, but it really sticks in my eye when I see Thai WL's lumped into a single category of cheap-n-nasty ho's ... anyone who has bothered to explore outside of the tourist bars will know this isn't the case.
