How Do I Start in the Industry?

Well, I doubt Centrelink would be much help..... Seriously, rattle around this and other boards and you will soon find out which are the best places in town to work at. I would definitely say start out in-house at an upmarket place as this reduces the odds of unpleasant experiences. The owner or reception should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

LOL i worked for centrelink for awhile sven and used to take the report a fraud calls. The best one i ever got was from some old guy (really, really old!) ringing up to report the next door neighbour as being a working lady and not reporting it to centrelink as income. Halfway through the call it came out the reason he was reporting her was cos he had a 19yo phillipino wife who the next door neighbour had recruited to her business!!

Ahhhh the good old days - i used to love those sort of calls :-)

By other boards Sven means the other headings on this site - you may find some women on there who work in the industry and are happy to chat to you about it.

some person contacted me about private work from their house,, the user appears to have disappeared :( sounded like a great opportunity, another girl to help me out.

I am London based and I would like to work part time as escort but I don't want to have photos of myself in any website what it is proving difficult as all the agencies I searched work this way. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Well, if you want to work part time, then I would suggest you set yourself up as an independent. You will probably find that you will need to have a website of your own which sets out your details, contact info, donations and services, and having some photographs of yourself there and in your advertisement will help bring you business. Having a tasteful foto or two on the web is just part of doing business and necessary to attract clientele. If you are afraid, for whatever reason, that you might be recognized by your photos, you can have your face blurred as many girls do, or have the pictures cropped so that your face doesn't show. And use a stage name.

And should you want a decent inexspensive web site visit Welcome its where I get mine and they start at $199.00. They are good.

Thank you Astrid and sneaky sales. I would have thought that being independent you are more exposed to predators and deceit. I'll certainly look into some webpages for inspiration, tips and affiliates.

hi 25 female, have you had anyluck as yet??as svengali says i think you would find inhouse a much beter way to start off..though it can be very competitive in some of the upmarket houses.though if you are confident in your personality and are lucky to have a nice body as the extra you will do fine..it wont take you long to get a few regulars if you give a good service.just a thought anyway and hope you are going ok,let us know how you are doing.if you do live sor i can introduce you to a madame, but i bleive you would do alot better in a upmarket house near the city...bye

There are a number of escort agencies which though posting your picture, will blurr the face of you request it. I agree that it is probably a good idea to start out as an agency girl, for safety reasons and to learn the ropes, so to speak, but if you do decide on being an independent, take a look around the web and see if there are any date-check sites or punter blacklist sites to warn escorts about the bad dates that will occasionally come our way. You will also need to learn to do your own back ground checks to make sure a client is who he claims to be. It would also be a good idea of establishing a routine whereby you meet the client in a safe and public place before going off with him. That will allow you to make the final decision about whether or not to continue with the date. Once you have a few clients get them to recommend you to others and see if they would be willing to submit reviews of your service. Favorable reviews will certainly help get you more business.

xoxo

Hi 25 female! I am a private lady who has worked on and off for a few years and i started out in an up market place in Melbourne before discovering wonderful Perth! There are a couple of up market places here good to start at but give them a few of them a call and get an idea of rates etc before you commit to one! I agree with stormline about starting out in-house first but if you are super organised, can give a great service etc and find a private apartment to lease (get a fully secured one where the clients have to dial in through intercom and you then let them in....deters the freaks and gives you peace of mind!!!!) then you should go all right!....Advertising on the internet is a great way to advertise if you go private...i am with a 2 really great sites and have just recently joined langtrees.com and has been fantastic so far...i recommend using a couple of websites btw..
If you have any further questions or would like some advice feel free to send me a private message or question on this forum...Good luck and i wish you all the very best and have a very happy new year!!
Angelina private

who runs those places on pier st? theyd be convenient for me...

Good Lord lady, don't even think about going there:nono::nono:

International 300 (on the corner of Harold St?) is as dodgy and dirty a dive as you will find anywhere this side of Calcutta. There is also Sarah's Retreat and Dorrie flatman's retirement home for over the hill hookers around there somewhere, neither of which are much better.

Try Langtrees,City West or Club 316 in any order you like. the rest aren't even worth thinking about.

25 Female.......... The best way is to get yourself noticed. There is plenty of good advice above............. If you provide a good service then I am sure word of mouth........ will do the rest. It is a very powerful tool.

All the best

Hi,

I would say try to talk to other working people and get a feel of what the industry is like. I was lucky, I knew quite a lot before I even started working... Internet is great, but real people giving out real hints are gold.

Jessy.

honest response:
agreed with svengali, don't even think about going to that place.
best is to work for house to start with. working from a house means that you will have a lower earning capacity, but it is safer, more convenient, less preparation, etc. once you've found your feet, you can then reassess.
langtrees, LC, CW, just to name a few.

punter's response:
recommended you get a test drive and find out if you qualify to be a WL...i can offer...haha.

yes how did you go 25female... i am 23 and looking to get into the industry and am facing the same problems!!!

Does starting out in the industry require documents? Like registration with the government? Medical testing? How is this process done?

Hi curiousc85 & sexworkers,

If you are from WA ?
I am sure a Private Lady or a Madam will see your posts soon and respond to your questions.

Have a read around the forum and you may find some answers.

Good luck with starting in the industry.

:)

Informative info but what about a Perth male wanting to get into the industry, massage or otherwise, is there room? is there the market? how to start?

I started out private straight away
I felt I could offer my services in a more personal way without other issues to complicate things. Fortunately I met a lady who was already in the industry and I picked her brains to death lol. She invited me to spend some time with her on her working days for a few weeks and she helped guide me into working on my own. I don't regret going private first, it felt right for me and I haven't looked back, I'm happy to share my experience and how I got started over the phone if you want to pm me for my number.

WA doesn't have a registeration process as current, fingers crossed it won't change. The laws are strict about no exchange of bodily fluids so no natural services are permitted besides the reasons behind this are wise, safe sex is a must! Magenta is a government funded organisation that provide discreeet testing every 3 months and cheap condoms when buying bulk. They also have some awesome counsellors who provide an ear when it all gets abit much or a situation arises you don't know how to handle.

I think from what I've picked up is for males, same things apply, in regards to is there a market, it seems there is less of a demand but still a market is there, depends if you are offer services to female only as from what I can see if you are open to services for male and female it opens your scope higher. The male workers I've communicated with, work part time.

Hope this helps

WOW Curvy Vanessa, I love your post! Good on you! I am always thrilled to see young, strong, intelligent women assert their right to feel good about the work they do and do it in style. It's brilliant that you are accessing the right help available (eg Magenta and by asking other experienced workers about their journeys within the industry.) Actually it can be quite a profound experience for a more experienced worker to answer newcomers' questions as it challenges us to be very clear about exactly what it is we are about as part of this industry and this can be a very illuminating and clarifying interchange for both parties. Keep holding your head high Vanessa and enjoy your journey won't you?! Love, Sheldon Thervasa. x

If you want to chat about starting in the industry pm me, you can leave your
contact number and best time to call, discression is assurred.

Hiya, just read that you are interested in starting up in the sex industry. I have done that myself recently. Because brothels cannot advertise employment opportunities., it is best to find out your local places, give them a call and set up an interview. Once that is done, buy yourself a variety of different outfits and sexy items. The main thing I would say when you first start out is to make sure that you are comfortable with the guys you are going to see. Therefore both of you will have a good time in the booking. On a final note I would stress that you really need to make sure that whatever you do with a client you are happy with. If you are happy with kissing for example, enjoy. If not let the client know beforehand. Hope you do well and good luck. P.s: Remember safe sex is good sex :)
