just a questoin for all the forum users.
does anyone have the contraceptive implant, and if so have you found a lowering of your sex drive ??
just want to know as mr's ford has had one put in and after about a week her labido ( hope that is correct spelling lol ) went down hill fast lol.

Yeah I had the depo implant put in a few years back and I went from insatiable to dont even look like touching me!

see what happens when you don't used genuine Ford approved parts lol, you loose performance and drive...lol

but back to point, we found simular with some oral pills as well... best to try a few and ask around, maybe MrsFord needs a new mechanic and tune up .... some tonics off set the effects as well..

As for us,,,, we back to latex and rubber...

I am just guessing here that you are talkin abt Implanon or similiar implant.....but unfortunately as with most hormonal contraceptives the side effects vary from woman to woman....

some women get no side effects yet some get the whole kit and caboodle...it all has to do with our specific genetic makeup and body chemistry.....

I have seen women on Depo provera have complete personality changes. With that injection you have to live with the side effects for up to 3 months till the medication wears off....at least the good thing abt implanon implants is that if the side effects dont settle the implant can be removed, the hormones wear off after a few days and BINGO back to normal!!!! ( of course you will have to start the merry go round of finding another long term contraceptive), the mirena coil is very good i have seen very little problems with this as the hormone release is localised doesn't flood the whole body plus once put in it lasts several years....

my advice would be to tell mrs fiend to wait a bit longer it maybe just her body adjusting to the change in chemistry....if it still bothers her she should go back see her GP.....

in the meantime my dear friend you will just have to be patient!:happy4:

....ahhh, well that answers a life long question. I must have been born with what constitutes that contraceptive implant. I've always wondered why when a woman looks at me, she loses her sex drive....hmmmm!!!

Just wanting to say thanks to all who replied.
Soixie we ( meaning Mrs ford lol ) found the Depo Provera had the opposite affect on her ..... she couldnt get enough while on it , it was when she came off it that some probs occured.
But all seems to be returning to normal now, she hasnt gone to sleep holding a knife threatning to cut off my privates for a few days lol.

Paul...Just an update spoke to some docs today they said any implant you shouldnt judge the side effects on for at least more than a month or even longer.....they usually settle :angel1:

Hi Paul,

I just want to add one little thing. I had the implant for two years and found that my sex drive went down and then levelled out, but another thing that happened (which was great) is that I didnt get my monthlies :toothy10: , however after those two years I started getting them 2 weeks on 2 weeks off :angryfire (and same with my sis) apparently it can be one of the side effects, so I got it taken out. Phew

Anyways, just thought your partner would like to know just in case!
