I don't get it, there are prostitutes who refer to themselves as prostitutes and other workers in the industry get offended whilst others don't. Like the Americans say; "Go figure."
If someone's an ex-sex workers should't the person be referred to as an ex-harlot or does one remain a harlot forever? I know someone whom I said was an ex-alcoholic and she corrected me and said that's a common mistake. An alcoholic is one forever, it's an addiction that's fought every day. There's no such thing as an "ex" alcoholic.

There are word the workers of the industry can use amongst themselves but if others use we see as a slur.
