Not sure if this is taboo but does anyone know what has happened to the funinaustralia site? I would've searched the forums but couldn't find the search function!

lol I actually joined FIA yesterday on the recommendation of a client...and I passed on Langtrees to him! :)

FIA had a major problem with their site a few weeks ago and it was off the air for a couple of weeks while it was fixed.

They are back in business but a lot of members left over a squabble which erupted a couple of months ago and it hasn't fully recovered.

Yep, that is another problem.

Previously the mods and owners had the expertise in-house to sort out any problems as they arose. Nowadays they have to wait for the server's support team to fix things which can take a few days. If this keeps happening they will end up going the way of the dinosaurs.

The forum still works but there is a problem with searches (ie list new posts etc) because the database may be corrupt.

You have to browse the topics one by one..

I just tried to log on and couldn't. I had a look around as a "guest" and found nothing new posted since December 7, not even an apology or explanation.

Looks as if it has died.

I think those guys have got some problems at the moment, that site has been down for more than a week now

yeah, I hope its just technical

technical cost's money n DeeJay doesn't like to spend money

by the way if u guys r experiencing FIA withdrawal Symptoms then i suggest u give DeeJay a call n let him know that his website is down again.

The problem is technical, and is a result of the site being moved to a different host. I spoke with DeeJay yesterday, and he said the move should be finalised by early next week. Unfortunately transferring hosting can be a nightmare as you are a little dependent on the prior host in acting promptly.

He decided to move hosts as the previous hosts support department was taking up to 2 weeks to fix problems which just isnt acceptable.

DeeJay has also been caught up in the Qld flood situation with his place of employment being flooded and it was 2 weeeks before they could get back into work - no work, no pay.

Infastructure damage in Brisbane has also played havoc with many peoples internet access, with them only slowly restoring telecommunications it is very diffficult for people to get internet in some places.

FIA should re-direct to a temporary page to at least let members know that they are down and working on the problem. As it is it does appear they have gone to the graveyard.

Agreed, I'd be happy to provide some temp space for this if DJ just wants a simple redirect.

There is now a redirect site which pops up in response to the URL but it doesn't lead anywhere. I think by now F.I.A. has probably lost so many members that even if it does restart it will take a while to get back to where it was.
