Magenta is great to go to as it is the GO-TO CENTRE for all working ladies, therefore they are very very helpful and discreet....

However it takes a really long time to get an appointment.
But if you are consistent and do your medicals every 3 months
and you are organised, you can pencil the appointment in advance.

The WASUA Nursing Clinic is a free, walk in clinic that offers a comprehensive range of services.
There is no cost involved and no appointments necessary. It is completely confidential and you don’t even need a Medicare card.

The clinic is based in Perth City at 519 Murray Street and is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 4pm.

All people will be seen & they especially welcome youth and young adults and people who currently use or have a history of using illicit drugs.

The clinic offers the following services: Hepatitis A and B vaccination and also the Flu vaccination for eligible candidates, pre and post-test information and testing for Hepatitis A, B and C, HIV and sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy testing, vein care assistance, sexual health education, general health care and referral to other services including liver clinics for hepatitis treatment.

They currently provide:
  • Hepatitis A and B vaccinations
  • The new Gardasil Vaccine against certain types of cervical cancer
  • STI's testing
  • Pregnancy testing
  • BBV's testing
  • Liver function testing

The clinic runs from 10-4 Tuesday and Thursdays

NO APPOINTMENT OR MEDICARE CARD IS NECESSARY.

The nursing clinic also partners with other organisations in Mandurah, Joondalup and Midland to make sure that everyone can access these services.

PLEASE do post their details here as it would help Ladies get their medicals done and feel comfortable about doing the tests......
remember it is not the law in Western Australia but doesn't it feel good knowing all in well ...

To all those who work in the sex industry here in Perth. I have thankfully stumbled across an amazing doctor who is more thorough than I have ever seen but kind and has a cool, easy going sense of humour. Her name is Dr Maree and she is based at Cannington Medical Centre. And the lady in Pathology is an ex receptionist in a parlour so is more that understanding of us and our job. I can not rate my experience there last night high enough. I've been in this industry quite a number of years so have had to have a lot of poking and prodding about down there on a regular basis. I know that this can sometimes be an unpleasant must do task for our job. So when we find a practitioner that makes this all better for us I think that we should pass this on. So this is me passing on my awesome experience.

Had a bad experience there when I started in the industry hence I went to Magenta and never looked back. The girls, nurses and doctors at Magenta are great. Only thing is you have to book in early. Funds are only enough for a doctor once a week on a Wednesday morning and a nurse on a Thursday morning. Main thing: good atmosphere......great medical attention...........relaxed.....caring.......love it there.:kiss::kiss::kiss:

After going to Perth Medical on Monday the dr and staff are still friendly though I walked away battered and bruised from them taking my blood (this is someone who has been there for 30 years)

I've tried Magenta and Ridge Baldivis (Dr. Nima Elahi) and have only good things to say about both. That said, I'm always open to suggestions as it's good for me to shop around until I get a perfect fit. :D
 
For anyone who is interested there is a relatively new app called Instant Scripts you can request a full STI check directly from the app. There is a charge of $20 and they do require a medicare card. Once approved they will email you the pathology request and you take it to your local pathology clinic. From there they will email through your results.

As per WA Health guidelines, positive tests do need to be reported, but again, all very discreet and private. If you go on to need medication they will email you a script to take to your local chemist.
