Someone, possibly a former/disgruntled insider, hacked the mod/admin account and deleted a number of well-known members apparently. I'd wondered where some of them had disappeared to.

Was it possible for them to create an account and log in to do this again? I would be looking at any accounts created within a few days, if this Admin styled rights account can indeed perform such a task.....
 
In the right hand corner of floaties there is a cross, I hit my cross and presto the floatie disappeared, I am sure all the members with far more wisdom than I can see the same cross. I can't see the little one at all so let me know if once crossed if they come back.
I will need help tracking down the members that have disappeared.
If someone can start a thread, and we can stat making a list. Its by chance before the comp I noticed Vader, and said I hope he wins, he is so supportive, and presto next morning, I see his membership is deleted, and I had a reply from Andrew rew to find that he had not had his account deleted.
I thought that maybe with the email cleanup we may have made a mistake, but I honestly don't think so I have noticed a few good regulars disappear, and they are not the sort of personalities that would not let us know and would say goodbye first.

The little one down the bottom reappears every time you view a new thread. On a mobile device the x is very difficult to press so I can't confirm if hitting it removes it entirely.
 
I never gave mobiles a thought as I don't use the forum on the mobile, so thanks for bringing that to my attention, I was so much enjoying them, I will have to find out if there is an add on to make floating messages more easily removable on mobile phones, as I can see great use for promoting new advertisers on Langtrees.com

The STI Floating message is like a dose of the pox. So hard to get rid of and keeps reappearing.
 
Yep it's a pain on your mobile as it keeps coming back ! And who really cares about Medicare if your stupid enough to get a disease then pay for it yourself !!
 
Guys I never use a mobile I will change it to a normal message you just have to let me know, private messages don't take but a few minutes.

To explain my disagreement, the concern is that if Medicare no longer covers STI checks, fewer people will get tested, which inevitably will result in such infections spreading at a higher rate through the population than is currently the case. That would not be in the public interest, even if you are a practitioner of 'safe sex' (which is not 100% safe).

Perhaps if they kept the tests free but charged a modest fee (cost price) for treatment, that might be a sensible compromise -- though there may still be fools who balk at paying for treatment if they have no symptoms (yet).
